Now that it's finally out on steam I am happy to have played it. It does change the superb linear storyline into a closed map open world. The actual story is good, but it does loose that core feeling of metro. Honestly if I were to give the game a rating it would be a 8/10. It's not SUPER AMAZING, but it's not terrible or even bad. It still holds up to be a great game even if it changes the kind of gameplay you'd expect from the series.

If you are looking at reviews for this game, how have you not heard of Beat-Saber and purchased a VR set. It's basically in the library of 99% of VR players.

Possibly the best game right now in terms of shooters. If you like realistic damage models this is the game for you.

⭕️ If your looking for a good WW2 shooter I can safely say that Brothers in Arms: Earned In Blood is a great gem. It’s a shooter that excels in friendly AI and squad command systems. It may be an old game by the time of this review (2017), but it holds up well. However, you need to also remind yourself that your playing a game that came from a decade ago. This game can feel a bit clunky and the graphics are not super amazing as today’s standards, but give the game a chance. I'd give this game a resounding ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/ 10. (8/10).
❤️Pros:
⚪Squad commands
- Not many games have AI that is actually helpful to you but EIB has perfected (at the time) helpful allies
⚪Tactics
- This game is primarily suppressing your foes and trying to look for ways to flank. It makes you think how to get around enemies to finish them off while your squad is suppressing them.
💔Cons:
⚪Story
- It's typically your run of the mill paratrooper story. You drop into Europe and get disorganized. Fight your way to your main objective.
⚪Controls
- The default key bindings are a little messy imo. With the addion of your squad commands you can be slightly overwhelmed on your button mapping. You can kind bind but I only wished they had a ADS hold rather than toggle, but thats just me.
⚪Graphics
- It's a game from a decade ago, I really shouldn't put this as a Con but just putting it out there. It's not SUPER amazing like the games we have now.
❤️❔💔 “The Middle ground” (Can be viewed as both a Pro and Con)
⚪Gunplay
- Now this is what some people may think make or break a game. IN EIB you'll discover that the devs have made the iron sights a bit unreliable to give a feeling that your just an average joe. The accuracy has been turned down to the point you can't 1 shot your enemies every single shot. EIB also has moderate gun recoil to the point that your gun will kick up and slightly off point your sight of picture. With my experience you'll need to get used to the game.
⚪Physics
- It's a really old game now, and being an old game it comes with its downsides. The physics (Grenades) really suffer due to the really weird throwing speed. Your ability at throwing is somewhat similar of a child’s and the speed at the nade flies is very slow. Also when you hit walls or ground, the nade also bounces at an absurd accelerated rate, often throwing it off your target. However, you can fix this by compensating these factors by estimating the range and throwing at an appropriate height. In my opinion you could say that this just further immerses you to estimate your throwing trajectory.
