At first, this game seems so boring, but once you involve yourself in all the amazing communities out there you begin to realise that for a small, cheap game like this wonderful things can come out of it.



I have spent far too much time and money on this game, almost 7000 hours now and about $1000 on in-game items. For a game that cost me $5 I never expected to spend so much time and money on it. Once I found an amazing community called "Xite Roleplay" my life was flushed down the toilet. With over 2-3000 hours on this one server, I was inspired to begin developing my own servers. I have had a total of 5 Gmod with 3 different game modes. Made enough money from them to pay for almost half my PC worth almost $2000.



Scriptfodder/Coderhire has also played a big part of my Gmod experience taking the game into completely different direction. One addon I bought from the site is "VCMOD" [scriptfodder.com] completely changing the Automobile side of Gmod making it 100% better, with the small cost of $20 you could have the chance of driving someone around one of the many maps, full selection of lights and now even drive by shooting. The list of features go on forever it I beg you to check it out.



However, during my experience of Gmod, I faced my worst experience. During developing my biggest Gmod server I was faced with someone who claimed to be a very experienced developer. I let him into my project and paid him for his services. In the space of 2 weeks, my bank account had been cleared, he blackmailed me and stole around $500-$750 with all the work I had done so far. Although this may have been a terrible experience I learnt a valuable lesson of who I should trust.



Although I had my worst experience with Gmod, I still highly recommend it to anyone who is up for a great laugh with some friends or looking to make new ones. Gmod is a community is one completely different to many others. There may be many, many 12-year-olds trying to run some DarkRP server but I promise they are not all like that.
