Noticed a few bugs, such as the inability to construct the defence turret node in the mission to take Washington D.C. for Nod and the excessive forces thrown at your base on Easy difficulty which suggest some errors in the A.I. interface and core errors in this port.

Early Access Review
There are some definite bugs with Project MIKHAIL right now, and there's support for controllers and consoles, but the storyline offers some interesting ideas, there's a lot of potential and it's really nice, as a Muv-Luv fan, to see a lot of the TSFs actually being shown. I hope that they'll also create some of the fixed-gun TSFs like the Thunderbolt-II as additional options and make it easier to grind for specific materials.

Right now, here's the negatives.
-No real option to custom pick-and-choose your targets.
-It can feel like you need to grind to get the parts you need to move forwards, and some of the grind missions to unlock are rather difficult to survive in.
-Some enemies feel rather overpowered for the level you're meant to fight them on in the missionsto grind for the parts to unlock new TSFs.
-Weapons upgrades need a little more explanation along with other concepts - a problem fixable by adding an in-game bestiary or explanation of terms.

Now, the positives.
-Great ADR work and the feeling of actively being involved in the game despite not having any actual lines as a player character.
-The action feels quite interesting and the feeling of the world is very much encapsulated.
-Very interesting designs in the TSFs and the looks of customising can be very interesting, though there's also something to be said for set bonuses.
-If the crew were to feel up to it, I could easily see some potential for very fun alternatives to occur if they had the desire to create them, say in creating a world where you could, in your decisions, save people who canonically do pass on.

All in all, if I had to rate it out of 10, I'd give it a 7 right now, with potential to do better. Early-access does mean more work needs to be done, but there's a lot of promise.

Not at all what I thought it would be, and not in a positive way.

The system is needlessly complicated to figure out, and I struggled even with the Tutorial mission. This is a game for the Mirco-management specialists, and as a result was something which I did not manage to succeed with in any way, shape, or form. The in-game Wiki was wordy, complex, and useless for gathering information of any help.
