The leveling is an absolute slog. The experience needed for leveling increases exponentially, but the xp income stays the same. If you like literal days of meanially cutting wood with no reward to level, you'll love this game.

The combat system is incredibly ambitious, but falls flat. AI can arbitrarily parry you whenever they feel like it and the combat is lagging, rubberbanding and causing you to get hit where you were over a second ago, even at official servers with a population of 10.

The developers response to much valid critisism has simply been to "host your own game and change the rates if you think this is hard".

Performance is bad, recipes are missing, crashes are frequent.

I'll skip the performance issues as they have already been mentioned.

The gameplay is fantastic. If you've played monster hunter before you'll be right at home.
The game has a clear endgame, and it has done multiplayer really well
All in all i would recommend the game once the price drops.

DayZ, where you fall 2 foot and break your legs, have to crawl for a couple of miles to starve to death or get eaten by zombies.
