Its fun but I literally see no point why this could replace tribes ascend. There is already a cheater problem by the way.

Surfing needs more air acceleration
maps are too small and you need more space to find routes.
I miss the ability to bounce off of rocks to change directions
Pathfinder class does too little damage and needs large buffs.

Could be fun in the future, for now - dont by it unless you need your old tribes fix.

Im only about two hours in, but I feel that I've already got my money's worth. The game looks incredible - best I've ever seen.
I love playing in this cinematic environment. Even though it is linear, it still amazes me beyond comprehension.

You also gotta appreciate that there is one price tag. No microtransactions. No DLC Skins. No ♥♥♥♥♥♥ monetization. One payment - and the game is yours to experience.

I'll look forward sinking hours into this title

Here are my thoughts after about 20hrs.

There is very little love in this game. World feels stagnant and looks/feels the same wherever you go. Linear open world - you feel caged and forced to follow small narrow roads. Exploration is unenjoyable.

-No fast travel (which makes this game grossly annoying).
-Bad performance in cities, makes your head ache.
-Bad AI both pawns and npcs
-Zero consequence for walking into someones house and stealing their ♥♥♥♥.
-AI will attack you randomly and you will never know why.
-Story is kinda ♥♥♥♥, nothing that caught my intrest.
-Pawns are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying and I want to get rid of them. They never shut the ♥♥♥♥ up and always state the same stupid things.
-Combat is Intresting at first, gets stale after a while. It's OK, but half the time you don't see what the ♥♥♥♥ is going on with all the anime effects and fast movements. While there are intresting ideas that could be great, the surrounding mechanics make it insufferable.
-This game vomits a million quests on you, and overwhelms you fast. "DO ALL AT ONCE NOW"-vibes. That along with annoying pawns that constantly pester you with cringe try-hard-shakespearian dialouge. Repetitive dialouge and Voice acting as well. (Even faulty voice acting, as the voice actor mispronounces words often, even in the opening cinematic. This shows how little they care for quality).


This game is a waste of time with annoying mechanics and broken features. It's like entering a world of medieval robots. Nothing is alive in this game. On top of that they want you to buy in game items with microtransactions.

I deeply regret purchasing this. Deeply.

Just don't buy this game - it is not worth the price tag they are asking for. It's fine if you enjoy it - but I'm convinced you love the idea of the game more than the game itself.

The fact that a single developer made a game as intresting and fun as this is very impressive. Because the dev obviously has skill, I will critique it quite harshly based on my experience.

The gameplay loop is very addicting and fun, however it stops being intresting quite fast. When youve reached a certain point, all you can do is new runs and you basicly just repeat, repeat, repeat. This gets repetative fast.

This game is really fun to play for one night, maybe two but after that you probably wont open it up again.

How to counter this: It needs more long term progress, even though your gladiators are supposed to die. Some ideas would be lasting upgrades for the Scollo even though your gladiator dies maybe? I just need some long term reason to keep playing, cause doing the same thing over and over makes you loose interest fast.

But that is not to say you shouldn't play this game. I definately had my money's worth.

8 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD NOT BUY THIS GAME

1. The game has been in development for a long time with very little to show for.

2. They say it's "pre-beta" which is alarming, since it's barely in a prototype phase. Scratch that, I don't want to insult prototypes - it's worse.

3. Animations. Really wonky and unprofessionally made. Far from finished. A game like this should have a satisfaction factor to the combat with weight and punch to it. It has neither of those.

4. They will probably just use the money you give them on buying more Unity assets.

5. The Audio is poorly made and vague.

6. It brings nothing new to the table in terms of game modes and ideas.

7. Do NOT trust the cinematics and promises given from Blackrose Arts YouTube page. Trust me I loved it when I saw it too, but you will be gravely dissapointed.

8. AI probably has maximum 2 lines of code. It is terrible.

1 Positive things about the game

1. The viking-vibe and graphics are beautiful, shame none of the developers did it themselves.

2. Some of the music made by Wardruna in the game is gorgeous. Not sure how Blackrose Arts got the rights to it, or if they do since I couldn't find any information about it after vigorously googling it.

Summary
If you like punching your own testicles then yes, buy the game and throw your money to a project that will never see the light of day.

If you have common sense - listen to what the people here say and STAY AWAY.

I have over 1,5k Hours played in Mordhau. I was not horrible and not pro at the game (I was around top 200 in ranked)

I've thoroughly enjoyed this game a lot. I've had a lot of good laughs and a lot of fun but there are still some discouraging things about this game that made me uninstall it after all this time.

Unreadable attacks, glitching, animation exploiting.

Toxic community, young people mostly.

CONCLUSION:
Incredibly fun game to play if you don't take it too seriously. Frontline and Invasion game mode is beautiful and there are plenty of fun modded servers to explore.
When you reach a higher rank and play Duels more seriously, the game loses it's charm because of animation exploits mainly.

But at the end of the day - I played 1,5k hours and enjoyed A LOT of those hours. So this game is definately worth a buy.

Cool racing, but it never saves when you progress your carreer. Why? And its very bugged, sometimes I cant go to the main menu. My specs are amazing and it has nothing to do with the PC. You cant skip annoying videos that you are forced to look at over and over again since it just doesnt save your progress. I got bored. Glad I bought it on sale, because I would never pay for it's full price if I knew how it was going to be..

I've played for about 18 years. Below is a list of why I believe this is one of the most embarrasing productions in modern day gaming.

- Have had 10 years to develop a successor to the previous game. What we get is an unfinished product.

- Huge playerbase with clear feedback on the issues the previous game had. Not only do these problems still exist. They are WORSE.

Here's a slightly more detailed list.:

- The Subtick-system is a scam through and through. Doesnt work at all. It actually felt better playing at 64 tick. If you play cs2, get ready for bullets clipping through player models and getting killed 2 meters behind cover.

- Collission everywhere. Your player will get stuck constantly. This is a huge deal in a highly movement based game. whats the reason for adding more objects that block you and frustrate your movement?

- tracers coming out of your gun that doesnt match up. In games like Tarkov or Arma i understand tracers, since there is actually a projectile leaving the gun. CS does not have projectiles. its click --> instant hit. I have no issue with this, but the tracer effect throws away all sense in this. Especially when they are plain wrong. Shooting feels horrible in CS2.

- Running tightly behind a player is just... What?? You basicly rubberband now. Who approved this? Seriously?

- Why name it CS2 when it's basicly CSGO with prettier water and worse gameplay. It's not a new game, it's a patch. Simple as.

- removed lots of content from CSGO. For sure all the players were begging the devs to remove 90% of the content!

- They did not think through the ranking systems at all. Or at least nobody smart Valve cared to chip in. which player wants to get individual rank on each map? seriously? and you only get a rank after 10 wins! Thats 90 games to get a rank for each map! Insane how they approved this.

- A perfectly well functioning buy menu gets replaced with a clunkier and awkward new buy menu. The ONLY good thing about CS2 is the ability to refund your weapons in the buytime.

- Unsatisfying sounds design for the most commonly used guns. Sounds are MASSIVELY important for a gun to feel good in a FPS shooter like CS. It doesnt matter how realistic it is or not. the AK in particular sounds like a sloppy walrus to use.

I extremely worried that all of these things got approved for release. To me it is proof that the ones who run the show have zero clue of what they're doing.

Think of the budget they had for this?? think of the huge popularity?! How does this happen even? Im appauled.
