The battles are boring and long, even for most regular fights. You end up burning through all of your resources for regular battles. Boss fights are insane and not worth your time. And as of 15 November, the game has been made even more difficult. Do not buy this game. In its current form, it lacks in quality, gameplay and story.

There is a stark contrast between this game and its predecessor. Whereas exploring the original La Mulana was a treat, embarking on new journeys and discovering interesting lore, the sequel feels painful. I had a hard time getting started in game, since the tutorial barely tells you anything. And keep in mind, I have played and beaten the previous game! It's just not intuitive, and the character handling is odd in the best of situations. There are hidden gems in the game everywhere, but you really do have to spend a ridiculous amount of time looking for them.

The game definitely got better graphics from the original, but that's about it. It's just a confusing mess.
