First time I've felt the need to make a game review. BLUF: Gray Zone is an alpha release with flaws ranging from shirtless AI dodging your bullets like Neo from the Matrix to servers going down mid op, however the community within the game is fantastic and there is no better feeling than organically forming a team out in the wild and making it back to base with some gear you wouldn't have been able to snag by yourself. If you can get past the current buggy state of the game, it's well worth a buy.

Currently sitting at about 15 hours in the game, and full disclosure I actually am not a huge fan of online multiplayer games. I typically enjoy single player RPGs without someone screeching into the mic at the start of every match. However, something that really cemented my enjoyment of this game is the way other players will just be absolute Bros when you need it. The following are some moments that I thought were great.

My first run, I hopped on VOIP and asked around if anyone was cool showing me the ropes. One guy took me under his wing, gave me an optic to help me out and took me along to hit a couple of the higher level areas, basically setting me up with better equipment to face the earlier areas.

Later on, I was running solo and ran into a guy at the bunker area and told him I needed a key back in the starter town. He told me he'd help me out and we started to move to extract, but he got smoked along the way. Never got that key, but it was a cool moment.

Walking through town and just working through a huge firefight against the AI with random guys taking cover behind a barricade, and patching up a rando because you need every gun in the fight.

The player dynamics are what really make the game great because of how necessary and spontaneous it it. I highly recommend using a mic.

The game has issues ranging from graphics, to AI's not going down due to lag, to the random trolls team killing to steal your gear, but those are fixable issues, that I hope will be resolved in the near future.

At the end of the day, I do recommend the game.
