Playing this game is like building a well-constructed sandcastle. You work slowly and deliberately, adding layer after layer to ensure the longevity and structural integrity of your castle. You build great walls to hold back the crashing waters of the beach, you build watch towers to look out for any invading crabs, you even adorn it with a tiny flag to make it look pretty.

Then oryx 3 barges in, does a flip, turns your sandcastle into nothing with a single roundhouse kick, punches you in the teeth, shoots your dog, and leaves without saying a word. You continue doing this routine every week, for fun.

remember when people joked about what fall guys would be like with voice chat? This is that, and it's incredible.

I had done it.

I had out-strategized and out-lucked all my friends, gaining five norma and two hundred stars.
Sitting a mere six tiles away from my home, all I needed was to roll the dice a few times to get there and claim my victory.
Nobody else was remotely close to winning, and they couldn't stop me anyways.

I rolled a three. Moving onto the enemy tile, waiting for me was a seagull.
'This will be easy', I thought. Oh how naive i was back then.
Rolling a one to attack the seagull, it easily dodged the attack.

Then it rolled a seven.

I was taken aback. My friends snickered to themselves.
Regaining my composure, i analysed the situation.
I had full health (5/5) and 1 defense, so therefore I only needed to roll a two in order to survive the attack.

I rolled a one.

There's really no reason to not buy this game, assuming you have the money.

This is one of those games where you wish that you could erase your memory to play it again for the first time. BUY IT. IT'S NOT EVEN THAT EXPENSIVE.

What are you doing looking at reviews? are you saying it isn't good enough to buy right away? do you honestly think it might be bad when i have over 2̲,̲0̲0̲0 hours into it?

Risk of rain is one of those games where you can play it 400 times and still have a different experience. however i was slightly dissapointed that the levels themselves are almost always the same. i really like the music and the gameplay, but i have not been able to do the multiplayer. bummer. anyways there are tons of items to unlock and over 9 classes to unlock. i'd say 7/10
