I HATE THE CAT

This game is the textbook definition of a thumbs sideways. But since Steam doesn't have that, it'll get a thumbs down because I think there are a few more things done poorly than there are things done well.

This game being "verified" for Steam Deck is a total joke. Terrible framerate in multiple areas and frequent crashes that cause the Deck to have to reboot. This is unacceptable.

I've only played a little bit, but I'm really liking what I'm seeing so far! Great music, good visuals, a really engaging loop - though I do have a few minor issues at the moment. Mainly that there should at least be an option to skip the tutorial every time you reincarnate. It's a bit tedious after a while.

I learned 2 things while playing this:

1. I need to keep an eye on these devs, because they've made a really great game here.

2. I am very dumb.

For a long time, I didn't understand the complaint that a protagonist in a game talks too much. It just never got on my nerves.

I understand the complaint now.

Stellar performances by Johnathan Sims and Nichole Goodnight combined with haunting illustrations and a story as sharp as a scalpel creates an utterly beautiful narrative experience. The only reason it's not my game of the year is that calling it a game feels reductive.

This DLC reveals Ada wasn't faring much better than Leon, but she did her absolute best to look very cool and in control whenever he was watching. That's the new funniest joke in the entire game, and it's not even close.
