Every review I've seen on this game, mentions issues that have already been addressed, or will be addressed.
The game is a neat little loop of going through portals to fight bigger challenges and upgrading your gear to accommodate. But it's simply much more than that. You get a realm called an abeyance realm. A little slice of heaven all for yourself, or whomever you invite to your island. On this island you can construct castles and homes within a very generous build limit. From here, you can launch expeditions into the relative unknown Fae wilds. Each of these expeditions can be as difficult as you need. Very soon, you will notice the amazing crafting system this game provides. Each material regardless of where and how you get it, provide a stat bonus to what you craft with it. Want more range damage? Look for the pursuit ingots, or collect the Bombardier ingots the bomb lobbers can drop. Want more magical proficiency, collect the ore that has higher magic strength. On top of this, each realm has specific formulas and recipes you can collect, effectively making you a master craftsman by the time you reach the endgame. The endgame which I will explain in the spoiler section. My point is, if you enjoy exploring, this game is for you. The realms are beautiful, the combat is satisfying to master, and the progression loop keeps you engaged. If I didn't have to go to work, I'd have way more hours. The game keeps you coming back for more. There's always something to be improving around the base, and if things are moving too slow, you can use magical cards that you collect called "Minor Realm Cards" to change properties in the world. This includes crafting output of ingots, lumber, and even higher durability crafts. There seems to be a solution for any problem you may have while in the crafting section of the loop.

The game has a hub area named The Watch. This is where you take the character you have been taking so long to perfectly cultivate, and throw them into the fires of the public Raid dungeons. This game not only has public hub to buy high level recipes and items, but it also has a matchmade raid dungeon that can be farmed for endgame tools and item materials. This is not required, as all of these items can be found finding these raid bosses in your own personal realms, however the option is there. This is also where you unlock the ascended realms. An extremely difficult version of each of the previous realms, which provide new recipes and even more rewards.

This game has extreme play-ability at the moment, don't deny yourself the pleasure of a fun self contained experience because everyone is jumping on their favorite streamers band wagon.
