This game gets a lot of negative reviews but the truth of the matter is that it's a fantastic game if you value skill-based medieval gameplay. Most of the negativity you see comes from noobs who pick up the game and expect to do well immediately. Maybe they pictured themselves in grand epic swordfights with lots of sword clashing. In reality, they buy the game and end up getting mercilessly ♥♥♥♥♥♥ down in seconds to higher levels. Instead of trying to learn the intended game mechanics, they dismiss them as "abuse" or "exploits" and leave a negative steam review because they're salty.

Let's talk about the two game mechanics that are often heavily criticized by noobs: accels and drags. Acceling your swing is basically just moving your mouse in the direction your swing is going in an attempt to speed up the swing. On the other hand, dragging is the reverse. You move your mouse in the opposite direction of the swing to try and slow it down. Your sensitivity doesn't matter because there's a turncap on every weapon that limits how much you can manipulate the swing. It takes practice to learn how to manipulate your attacks like this but the end result is that good players can try to get past your defense using these techniques. These are intended game mechanics, not exploits. They add depth to the game for the players that are beyond getting hit by basic noob swings.

The second most common complaint I see is people complaining about "ballerinas." What they're referring to is players that spin like madmen and swing wildly. Maybe they think the game is like Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, where you could actually do 180's and 360's while attacking. This is basically misinformation. It is literally impossible to swing and do a 360 in this game because every weapon has a turncap that prevents this. Additionally, if you try to spin too hard while swinging, your weapon will glance off the enemy and do close to no damage. What people are likely seeing is somebody spinning around during the windup of a swing or before they have even swung. The spinning adds no advantage whatsoever beyond making a noob panic.

TL;DR: The game has a high skillcap. It takes time to get good at the game and if you don't like losing a lot while learning, then this game isn't for you. If you can accept these things, the game is fun and offers incredibly satisfying skill-based combat.
