Contemplative, melancholic, and absurdly humorous, Babbdi is most of all fun to explore.
While the game does give players enough pointers as to stay on track in this concrete maze, I had the most fun wandering about, constantly asking and answering the question, "What's over there? Oh, what about over there? And there?" In that sense, progression in Babbdi is measured by the tools you find to increase your movement potential, with each new one feeling just as game-changing as the last. Completely ignoring the main objective for a while and following your own goals is greatly facilitated, honestly feeling like the intended way to play. The map you find displays the area where you will find all the story events, hidden items, and tools, but if you want to travel outside that area? Go for it! (Finally reaching the far-off boat I had seen but was unable to reach earlier was a major highlight in my playthrough.) The game lasts just as long as it needs to for a 100% run, allowing you to really feel that you sucked the marrow out of the experience while not overstaying its welcome.
My only notable criticism revolves around that aforementioned map: it does show you an overhead perspective of the gameplay area, but not your position within it. This is more manageable once you familiarize yourself with the city, but it does require orienteering skills to utilize effectively (though, perhaps that was the intention).

Overall: do yourself a favor, and explore Babbdi for an hour or two. It's free, takes up less than 2GB, and really scratches that exploration itch far too many titles ignore. What have you got to lose?

Babbdi is like visiting Eastern Europe in my dreams.
