Super fun game.

Only issue I had was over grinding and taking over every city in a zone before finishing the main story line. Turned all the factions into -100 friendship. Now the main story wants me to go get approval from the all main factions. Basically ruined my own game. Need to finish the main story once to unlock sandbox as well so rip. Kind of sucks!

Update: Turns out you can still do the main quest even if all the factions absolutely hate your guts the leaders will still give you missions if you track them down. Alternatively you can just wipe out every faction.

An extra frustration I've found super late game. The heroes you appoint to cities (So they can build their own armies and assist you) Regularly defect and make their own factions and steal a few of your cities each time. Then I'm forced to run around and retake them while the defector that I nicely gave a city is now -100 hatred. Feels like if I played long enough all the heroes would eventually defect with max hatred. Kind of stupid mechanic.

Probably last addition I'll add based on launch content. Farming jade sucks and needs an overhaul. Very disappointing you can only have 2 T6 units max as well especially considering how hard it is farm out a level 3 title. The AI feels a little overtuned. I grind my ass off and all these jerk offs are running around with almost the same quality of units. The ifrits towns defend towers are insanely broken. Flame tower needs a nerf massively. They can basically kill 50 units each on their own and if they get units blocking for them they can easily kill 500+ units. I took over 1800 units to take the main ifrit town and failed 1800 vs 300 because their defence towers are so insanely overpowered. I had all but 2 towns on the whole map with like 30 allies armies combined to make 1800+ units and still couldn't take the ifrit city? Come on man.

Wiped my main character with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ nerf patch that should have been rolled back within hours of being dropped. Nope they were more concerned with limiting end game players that cleared content to quick. Here I am no refund and unable to play my main character over 10 days since his gear was wiped and he got a bug that immediately crashes the game when I load into him. Thanks PCF and steam! Just more incentive not to spend +$80 for new games when I can watch other people play them and have just as much fun.

I've played most of the SAO games, I think I only missed the original. Most of them have okay stories, but the combat really stands out. This game is no different in terms of fun combat systems. It has its issues such as camera/open world character control and loading times. Hopefully they will release a few optimization patches that fixes some of the issues that make the game feel a bit rushed.

If your a fan of the SAO rpg's or the anime arc I'd say the game is worth picking up now. Especially since they've said they want to make this game have some longevity online so they can sell cosmetics. Those cosmetics are also going to be farmable but time limited so you risk missing some fancy outfits.

Otherwise maybe wait for christmas sale when the game already has those optimization patches
