Line war is an operational level wargame

It is low micro, but has strategic depth. Battles run between 20-40 mins.
Build structures.
Draw movement and attack lines which order nearby units to follow them.
Draw fortification lines to order troops into the defensive.

Infantry and artillery to grind the front.
Tanks to perform blitzkrieg tactics.
Helos for close air support.
Strikers and bombers for deep strike.
Commandoes for stealth recon, raids, and paradrop operations.
Destroyers, cruisers, subs, landing craft, aircraft carriers.

Form defensive lines to hold back direct attacks, while you create new fronts.
Decide how much materiel a front needs.
Use forests and mountains for hiding troop movements.
Use commandos and interceptors to scout that out.

If you chanced upon Lidell Hart's "Strategy", and wonder - wow, if only there's an RTS game that's less demanding on simulation and time, but could apply Hart's thesis, then you've found that game. (yes, that's very niche)
