Coming back to change this review after another 300 hours or so, must admit that this is one of the few games that have managed to make me keep coming back to fight some monsters with my friends. It's highly enjoyable and i highly recommend it. Few issues with it however is the importance of the grapple thing which name escapes me at the moment as it takes the focus away from your weapons and redirects it to making the monster fall down as often as possible. Additionally i dislike how they implemented defender and guardian gear as new players don't necessarily understand it's for fast tracking the basegame which imo ruins the buildup you get from a low rank hunter up to master rank. From my understanding they also did the same in rise which is somewhat dissapointing to me, but regardless it's a very fun game with good weapon play and quite a bit of thinking required for how to optimize your hunts.

Would recommend especially if you have some friends you can play with.
