Early Access Review
I don't know how this game is getting overwhelmingly positive reviews. There isn't much to this game so I'll keep it short. Game of chance and deceit. Gamble on if you can call the other player's bluff, and if you can, you survive and they die and game is over, That's it. The same play mode with either dice or cards. I think this would be a good game for a group of friends that want to do private games. But as for the public rooms, stay clear of those. Racist room names and deceitful players. I would stay clear of this game.

Marvel Snap is a F2P comic themed casual card battler with deep strategy. Players battle in a 1 vs. 1 setup where the playing field is split in to three locations. The battle is split into normally six turns, this can be altered by cards and location events. Each turn players place cards on the field in different locations to accumulate power. The player with the highest power at each location wins that location. The player with majority of locations won, wins the battle.

You gain cards to grow your collection by leveling up through a variety of progression system. One way is through a Battle pass that at each level completed gives rewards. Another is through PvP progression tiers. If you take the free route, you can still unlock cards, but the progression is slower of course.

After each battle the player gains boosters to level up cards. The level up is cosmetic, it does not improve the card. However by leveling up the card, the player increase their progression level toward free items such as boosters, key caches, new cards, card variants...etc.

This game is F2P and not P2W. You have to understand it is a business and needs to create revenue. They won't want to sustain a product that doesn't generate money. If you really like something invest into it, if you don't invest, don't complain about what you get for free. You do not need to pay to win, you just need to know how to read your opponent and play your locations best you can. When things get too hot, escape the battle and move on to the next one.

With that being said, investing in the game opens up your abilities for different battle strategies. As another person said, "if you can keep your micro-transactions to a minimum and not go overboard with cosmetics, the amount you invest isn't much" and I agree with this statement. Another thing, if you want to gain more cards but do not want to pay money, you will need to invest another currency, your time. The grind is what it is for free. You have bonuses to help you out and if you learn to take advantage of the different currencies, they will allow you to purchase higher cards at no cost to you.

I've invested in Battle Passes and other events I was interested in and passed on others. I've came across players with better cards and have smashed them to pieces. However, I have also been smashed by players with "weaker" cards. If you don't understand how to play variables to your advantage, you will constantly be frustrated with failed battles.

My advice to new players is to play the game for a while. Take your time and get familiar with the cards and their weaknesses. Don't get discouraged over losses. If you find you like the game, invest a little bit in things to help you grow your card collection to create new decks and not the cosmetics. Wait for events and specials before investing money and Battles Passes are great for the value of what you get in return.

Saint's Row but not all the way. In this reboot, there are elements of Saints Row's spirit sprinkled throughout an unfinished world. In many ways, the game feels unfinished as you drive around the many boroughs that make up the city. Upon my first few hours of this game, it felt like nostalgic as you relive the making of the Saints. However, soon after it feels like the story takes a tank and is just filled with fetch and kill enemy quests. Now don't get me wrong, it isn't like the story of the Saints is very deep, but the history behind the game had enough to create a entirely new story line for the current gen, but instead they decided to reboot it. Now if you are going to reboot a series, all the previous stuff that was in the series should be there and built upon, not just start from bare bones again.

The characeters don't feel developed. They feel like they are just a bunch of kids trying to figure things out, which would make sense, but at the same time doesn't feel like the direction is worth paying attention to. The general feel is kill and threaten people, get power.

During my play through, I experienced a few crashes. Nothing to kill my progress, but just a minor annoyance when trying to play through a "lengthy" mission. I missed the variety of cars and places that made up the city. This seemed to be really bland with a limited number of vehicles. I constantly found my self hunting for something unique only to find a "unique" variation that wasn't really unique.

The physics are hilarious and when trying to out run the law or an enemy, the rubber band effect is annoying and just an excuse for bad programming. It however, doesn't get in the way too bad, but if you are playing on "BOSS" difficulty, I would expect a little more. Frequently the enemy NPCs would get stuck, allowing me to just plow down with a small hand gun. There are many more interesting things that happened but, it is what it is.

If you don't think of this game as apart of the original Saint's Row series, then you might be able to over look the undeveloped story line and unfinished feel. I can at least appreciate, the tease of what it could have been, the sound track which has a decent mix of genre, but heavily Latin influenced.

This series is what it is, not great, not bad but just is. You have the similar missions, wacky guns, and weird apparel. How you do not have all the previous stuff in from the other saints row is mind blowing, then the DLC bits again which trickle in. All and all I don't recommend this game at full price. This is a $9.99 budget bin buy at best. It had great potential but things happen and only so much can be delivered.

I recommend this game only if you purchase knowing not to expect much from this title.

Pros+
+ Soundtrack
+ Mindless shooter
+ Decent mission length
+ Tons of side quests
+ Character customization

Cons-
- Repetitive
- Unfinished feel
- Low variety of vehicles compared to previous series
- lack luster AI

QUEST 2/3 USERS THAT EXPERIENCE BLACK SCREEN READ THIS:

QUEST 2/3 users, as of 12/10/23 - in my experience the GAME DOES NOT WORK with Steam Link. I would NOT RECOMMEND buying if you only use Steam Link at it's current state. So far the game will start-up but once started, users will be met with a black screen and then the game will eventually stop loading. If you look in the forums, a lot of users are experiencing this but the Devs can't seem to replicate and address the issue yet. Looks like a previous update may have messed things up, but I can't say for sure. All I can say is save your money until this issue is replicated and fixed if Steam Link is your only way of playing this game.

Angry Birds is a causal VR game where the object of the game is to shoot Angry Birds at haphazard rigged bases built by the Green Pigs. Just like the mobile counterpart, the gameplay idea is shooting AB at Pig fortresses to bring it toppling down and defeating their foes. Each stage is more complex than others, but the pace of complexity is nice.

An added feature is that the player is able to move to various positions around the stage to get a view point for maximum destruction. Hurl bird after bird to destroy the buildings and progress to the next stage.

Overall the game is fun for causal play for a quick VR session. I'd recommend it if you are able to use it through Quest Link or Air Link. If you are using it with Steam Link beware it may not work at all.

Pros
+ Fun Cartoon Graphics
+ Smooth Animations
+ Casual Gameplay
+ Challenging Puzzles
+ Simplistic Controls

Cons
- Okay music
- Stage variety

A thief, a bouncer and a hacker walk into a bar.....

Sunday Gold offers an engaging blend of casual RPG, storytelling, and puzzle elements, all seamlessly integrated into an intuitive point-and-click system. While the experience is generally enjoyable, there are occasional moments of frustration, like when the battle menu inexplicably vanishes during a crucial decision.

Players embark on a wild journey alongside two unruly hooligans and a disgruntled employee, all with a shared goal: to strike it big and exact revenge on the formidable corporation. The journey unfolds in three distinct chapters, each with breaks in-between to enable players to reevaluate and redistribute their character's skill points. Throughout each chapter, players grapple with a series of puzzles in their pursuit of revealing concealed truths, all while maintaining a low profile. The battle system operates with clarity and simplicity, affording players the option to choose from a variety of skills, items, and more as they face off against their adversaries.

As they journey forward, the heroes uncover disturbing secrets hidden below the surface. These unveil a dark side of sinister activities kept from the public eye. With each step, they unknowingly delve deeper into a dangerous path. Secrets unravel to reveal a nightmarish world, full of danger and sinister schemes. Each revelation puts them in a riskier situation, challenging their determination and bravery. What started as a simple journey now becomes a frightening adventure, where the heroes must navigate through a maze of terrors, burdened by their newfound knowledge.

Overall I would recommend Sunday Gold. The game play was fun, the characters were decent, and the story was well....play it for yourself and see.

PROS:
+ Art Style
+ BGM fits theme
+ Story
+ Gameplay Length

CONS:
- Low variety of enemies
- Menu click detection sometimes glitches
- Weapon variety
- Abrupted ending

Tails of Iron is a good game for those of you who like satisfying progress, simple story, with a good variety of weapons and armor to choose from. Start to finish, You feel connected to the main character in his quest to revive the fallen kingdom and vanquish their foes once and for all.

Every enemy you beat an enemy it feels like one step closer to avenging the family honor and restoring peace to the lands. A chop here, poke here, stab there and the body count starts to rise. With each new weapon and armor piece found, you feel stronger and more powerful.

The game play was satisfying once you got the hang of the mechanics. Knowing when to dodge and parry are important timing parts of the combat system. Although there was no magic, or weapons/armor with status effects. The armor at least had resistances to the enemies you faced.

There was a variety to weapons and armor to choose from, but most of the time you'll just stick with the ones that have the best stats and never revisit the older items. Some items had alternatives looks to them, adding some fun looking items to your characters look. Want to kill your foes in a chef's hat? why not? Want to bash skulls in with a candy cane? Go for it!

Overall the game is a solid and worth the play through. I would recommend this game. It is a decent edition to the library.

MY 10MINS of FUN

So the game has some depth, battles don't really seem to hard. I'm sure the battles will progressively get more challenging as game play goes on. This game isn't for everyone (myself included), but it'll scratch an itch for others. From what I did play, it was fun, I did enjoy it. The art work was good. There were regular versions and evolved versions of the same card, which broke up some monotony. The DEAL BREAKER for me is the game doesn't support full screen modes. You are locked in a small windows size. Probably something around 720p. I'd expect 1080p at the least from something released in 2016, guess not. Feels like this was a mobile game.......Recommended if you can deal with static lower resolution.

Urban Fight is an "fight centered action" game with decent graphics and pretty effects. For a $2.00 USD game my expectation are always pretty low. However, by trying new things sometimes you find gems. The idea behind this game I do believe is to play through linear levels progressing your skills and abilities experiencing "fight centered action" type gameplay.

There are 5 levels and and a Endless mode to choose from. The player plays through a series of encounters within areas (levels) for progression. Levels can be played in any order, with supposedly more difficult type enemies in the "higher" levels. There are a variety of enemies you encounter, but the enemy "action" part is lack luster.

The game graphics looks decent. I'd say as good as one might expect from a low budge title. Although, the frame rate dips randomly, still manages to be somewhat playable over time. The game seems smooth out a bit over time, but the initial few runs of the game has its quirks. After I loaded the game a few times, the menus seem to work a lot better and gameplay smoothed out as well. In the games defense, the game does warn you that the initial load will be slow.

Control in a game is very important to the user experience. It can make or break a game, good or bad. I think the biggest issue with this game is the lack of control (not controller) support. It gamepad control is broken or non-existent. There is also no keyboard configuration support, so keys can't be remapped for a custom user experience. Furthermore, some of the keyboard keys have very weird placement. I suspect the key bindings are designed for another type of keyboard layout.

Although, you would think the ESC is a common placed key that would bring up options in most games. Well if someone reading this review finds the correct key, please let me know because I pressed every darn key on the keyboard and never found it. There are other sub menus spread around the keyboard, but nothing for central options (sound, graphics...etc).

Though the execution of this game lacks in some areas, I'd say with some more time and polish, this could be a fun little game. However, the game is very poorly optimized all around at its current state. The lack of control customization for either keyboard or gamepad is a deal breaker for me.

Other reviewers wonder how this game can receive so many positive reviews? Once you get past the rough, the game COULD be fun for some people. With that said, if you can find some fun in this low budget title by all means go for it. I however cannot recommend this game until it gives users better controller support and the ability to remap keyboard keys at the minimum. At this time the game feels more like a beta state then a finished product, so try it out and if you don't like it....grab a refund (no hard feelings).

Pros:
+ Decent graphics
+ Ok level design
+ Mob variety
+ Skills and abilities to learn
+ 2.00 USD or cheaper on sale

Cons:
- Uninspired music
- Lack of controller support
- Lack of keyboard configuration
- Poor graphic optimization
- non-intuitive key binding

Gray Area:
= No Story
= Weak tutorial

Zombie Derby is a fun casual racing game with a kill zombie theme. What I liked about this game was the strategy behind each car or map wasn't the same. Some cars were tougher, faster, or had a special ability. As you try to beat the stage, you'll unlock upgrades for your vehicle to last longer, go further, and mow down zombies like a mad man. Although the game isn't too long, it still fun to casually pick up once in a while. I'd say for $1.99USD, that isn't a bad price, but since it has been around for a while, I'd say definitely try it out on a sale.

+Pros:
Casual
Graphics are decent
Simple Controls
Vehicle upgrades
Short gameplay

-Cons:
No story
Short
Small number of vehicles
Small variety of upgrades
Sound track

Zombillie is a fun casuals puzzle game where a centipede that grows in size after eating orbs that are placed around the level. Green orbs cause the player to grow one extra section, and red will cause the player to grow two extra sections. The longer the centipede gets, the harder it is to navigate around the level. The purpose is to collect the required number of orbs to exit the level in a certain amount of time.

The gameplay has a good pace, but the controls seem to have a delay in command. I do believe this to be a mobile port, which would explain the loose controls. I've often found myself overshooting the direction i intended on going. This would lead me in having to use a Rewind (power-up), or restarting the level because I was either too large, or did not have enough power-ups to allow me progress.

There are Power-Ups that you find placed through the level. As the player collects these objects, they expand the options you have to assist you in completing the level. There are clocks to rewind time, hammers to break through walls...etc. Utilizing these power-ups at the correct time could mean the difference between passing or failing the level. As the levels become more difficult, the power-ups are used for specific reasons as well.

Overall, the experience was a good one. I would recommend to players who like causal puzzle games. This game is fun and has a good amount of challenge to it. For $5 bucks, I would say it isn't a terrible deal. But, if you can find it on sale try it out.

+Pros:
Nice graphics and Art
Decent sound track
Lots of levels

-Cons:
Limited tile set
Loose controls
