Doing good. Retired now. I have been playing more casual/old school stuff lately. Over time, my various aches and pains from military service make it harder to play PVP real-time, twitchy fast-paced action games. On a side note, I just found out that Bethesda updated Doom 1/2 on Steam (and maybe some other titles) so they run natively in Windows now. I know there are mods and stuff for that, but it's nice to be able to just hit install and then play without the pains of dosbox.

Hope everything is going well with you BossGalaga. I remember that you liked a lot of the older games especially. I've been playing a fair amount of single-player Generation Zero, which I find relaxing especially with its environments in beautiful wilderness and farmlands. It has some bugs and isn't perhaps as difficult early on as many would like. Stalker Anomaly, a free complete mod for the STALKER series, requiring no original games, is tighter and harder. But it is less hectic at times than Dying Light, and the scenic terrain is great. Worthwhile on sale perhaps, but not for those wanting the top action.

Always liked a good pound cake, especially with some jam on it, like Apricot Jam.

Just wanted to say thank you for your message, you just saw right through me and we haven't even spoke recently. Thank you, I really appreciate the support and the fact that great people like you exist.
A Jaded Lizard 10 May, 2018 @ 4:32pm
Understood. Just shoot me a line some time when it'll work for you and we'll see what I can do.
DedZedNub 10 May, 2018 @ 12:27am
I tend to have off usually in the middle of the week, Wednesday and Thursday currently. But this week I have a lot of other things to do. It's good that it is entertaining even solo, as that's also the most likely way I would play it most of the time. I'll keep KF2 on my wish list. I removed most of the KF2 comments from my PositronX review comments, just leaving the initial exchange. I thought you'd understand since basically you decided to move the conversation here first, which was good of you.
A Jaded Lizard 9 May, 2018 @ 5:00pm
I don't mind; I moved over here because I thought, like you, that it would be odd to discuss another game in so much detail here.

I play just about every day, although if you want to schedule something it'd probably be better to do it on a weekend.

The game plays a good deal more like CS with AI zombies. I play solo primarily and it can get hairy, especially on the highest difficulty, but on Hard and Suicidal you can manage if you're careful.
DedZedNub 8 May, 2018 @ 11:15pm
When do you normally tend to play KF2, so that I might plan on a day or time to ask you to Stream something?
DedZedNub 8 May, 2018 @ 11:15pm
KF2 seems in the vein of simpler kill or be killed with placed zeds plus waves of them. Probably very nice co-op, but I tend to play single-player (though at some point soon, I'm going to try co-op a bit, maybe 6 months or a year, in some game).

Hey, if you don't mind, I think I should, for the sake of the PositronX Devs, maybe delete a few of our comments on just KF2 on the PositronX review comments section. I'd keep the first interchange or so, but remove the rest. As it might scare off some commenters from posting about PositronX. That's if you don't mind. Let me know.
DedZedNub 8 May, 2018 @ 11:12pm
That doesn't mean I don't like KF2 from what I've seen though. I've almost bought it quite a few times. The only major problem with Dying Light, which is my usual zombie go to, is that once you get a high Survival Level, it becomes so frenetic even on Normal. So pretty soon you have to Camouflage a lot to just get a break (although there are areas where you can mostly avoid this -- rooftops, certain building areas near key sites, so on). I preferred Dead Island and its sequel Riptide for the less constant frenetic detection and so on. I mean, it would be like taking Bioshock and quadrupling the spawn rate even if you stand still. After a while, the game changes into Bioshock: Constant Arena.
DedZedNub 8 May, 2018 @ 11:09pm
I may ask you to do that sometime, and watch a Stream. Also, I appreciate your consideration and moving the conversation over to here, or if you want you can always Chat, and I'll read it when I come on. But here is good, because it remains even if I click wrong and it's of interest to anyone who might come here anyway. By the way, Blademaster, another friend of mine from Dying Light, also likes KF2 a lot. Blade is like a master of Dying Light if you ever need help or a question answered. Ok so these USB drives are like objects placed in the game to find, but you pay to unlock, and it may pay off or else you lose some money. Okayish, but I'm not a huge fan of that. However, the crafting part could be interesting.
A Jaded Lizard 8 May, 2018 @ 6:00pm
If you want, shoot me a message sometime when I'm online and I can stream it through Steam. I'm not the best but I can show you the basics at least.
A Jaded Lizard 8 May, 2018 @ 5:59pm
I thought it might be better to continue the conversation here rather than your review for another game.

As far as cosmetics go, the USB drives cost around $2.50 (I think) to unlock, but you can get the drives once a day at the end of your first match. Most drives can be sold for about $.01, although you can also recycle them into crafting components; ten basic components will make one common cosmetic, which you can then either sell for more money or break down into a rarer component and repeat the process.

Thanks for posting it again, Blademaster. Makes me seem like I can predict the future now , heh. Even better ;)

Great person and very well thoughtful, thank you for all your awesome comments :)

Reposting this because my previous comment got deleted by mistake. Sorry about that.

Just dropped in to say "hey".
DedZedNub 15 Nov, 2017 @ 3:43am
Wow, that's really nice of you to say, Blademaster, thanks. I'd say to anyone that if you want to meet a true ambassador of gaming, just read anything that Blademaster posts about Dying Light. He doesn't get paid to do it, but he's about as professional and well mannered a person as anybody you'll ever meet. I get more enjoyment reading his Dying Light posts than almost anything.
hnom123 23 Mar, 2016 @ 11:34am
Glad to hear that, DZ. ;) Be well!
DedZedNub 22 Mar, 2016 @ 1:43pm
@ hnom123, thanks for the info on that game. I looked into it a little bit before your reply and agree with your response overall. It did seem to have a lack of detail, that can be okay if one is in the mood for it. I'm going to hold off for now. It was good to hear from you. I hope to be online more during the Easter Sunday and week after, as I will have a week off.

Hi.About my "Dead But Alive! Southern England"First, be prepared for the fact that this is a visual novel. Do not expect too much things like "The Walking Dead" have, alas... So the gameplay may seem minimalistic to you. The game offers you the option of the simulator mode, but ... This option includes a mini-game with the lock picking and manual control of the battle, which is designed as a slot machine. This is the most obscure and weak point of the game. It is much easier to click Auto fight, or do not to play in the simulator mode. More personally, I lacked the depth of micromanagement. Well, ok, Let's talk about the pros. :) Not bad [for an indie zombie game] story. The ability to make decisions, upgrades of camp. Different ways of achieving the objectives. Possibility of romance with some people. X) Also, I bought the game with a good discount. :D I also advise you to buy the game at a discount. However, I was pleasantly spent time playing this game. :)

I'm really surprised by that. Fallout New Vegas, for instance, has a HUGE community on the PC and no badges. I think with Steam it mostly revolves around whether or not the game was developed by Valve (as do the game recommendations; a friend of mine and I clicked through my games for half an hour before we reached a game that didn't have a Valve game recommended; explain to me what Resident Evil 6 and Portal 2 have in common!).
DedZedNub 22 Jun, 2014 @ 10:37am
Yeah, same here. It isn't dependent on your own play, it's dependent on others crafting badges in that game. I guess in the last year or so I've received 3, but it was almost 6 months before I got my first. The game has to have active badge crafting. The sales can help, and you have to log on supposedly once a week. But I find since I play offline so much that I think that hurts some, but I could be wrong on that last.
A Jaded Lizard 22 Jun, 2014 @ 10:32am
I never seem to get booster packs. I play Resident Evil 6 every day and haven't got anything other than my first card drops for buying the game.
DedZedNub 22 Jun, 2014 @ 10:29am
No problem Godzilla. If you see something in my inventory you need to finish a badge or something and want to trade, let me know. I don't think we had anything at that moment that would combine when I checked it yesterday. But there is a chance that we may since we might get booster packs on games we overlap.
A Jaded Lizard 22 Jun, 2014 @ 10:17am
Hey, thanks for the add!
