it's not as much a game as it is Art that leaves you in awe.

The HUD system is bare minimum while still meeting all your needs making you really immersed. Those times where you want a detailed HUD you just hold down TAB and you'll see every vital information like total ammo for all weapons and air. The rest of your huddy needs is met on your watch which tells you the time, visibility, compass and Radiation levels gauged by colour. All by pressing one button. Even your Map is a on a cardboard that you look at and can turn around where you can read your current objective that is
written as a diary entry.

Sound is a really important factor that gives you cues to your current state. Instead of a Stamina bar when you're sprinting you can tell when Artyom's exhausted with heavy breathing and a fast loud beating heart.

Rather than a Health bar, a visible and audible cue of blood on screen and pain. This lack of HUD gives you an incredibly immersed experience. It gives you a connection with Artyom and you're gonna make damn sure he stays alive.

*Weapons* are not unrealistically futuristic, quite on the contrary are most of your weapon's crude, even
outright primitive. This adds validity and Realism as the Fallout caused technology to become unavailable
and restricted.
*Ammo* is far and few inbetween on Normal difficulty and you'll absolutely have to make sure to not use
more than what's necessary to deal with the threat.

The Crafting system is creative.

There's two system's of Crafting:

- *A crude system* this is done through your bag which enables you to craft on the go, improvised
weapons and gadgets as well *dummy bullets*

- *A hard system* this is crafting through Workbenches this is the place you craft everything that takes
time and needs a vast array of tools to create.

It's a dangerous *World* and you'll find many dangerous predators that you'll have to take an unique approach dealing with. A creature called the Watcher hunts in packs. It's one of the signature enemies you will encounter. You'll want to take out the ones that are most isolated lest it calls the rest of the pack and you'll find yourself swarmed.
You want to check your immediate environment but don't forget to keep an eye on the skies because Gargoyles scours the surface and anything that sticks out(like you) for prey.(they're even named Demons by some) a terrifying Predator. In terms of *Difficulty* on Normal is challenging and one have to approach every situation with caution and at the same time having to react fast and with right decisionmaking to Survive. The story is a perfect balance between linear progression and Freedom to explore.

The animals give off alot of sound and you should use that to your advantage to get the drop on them, its rare that you'll ever get caught by surprise, you find yourself surprising them.

The most dangerous Predator however is *Humans*. This bipedal mammals are armed to the teeth and you'll have to react fast to take them down while being paranoid of traps.(tip: you can conveniently add the traps to your supplies if you disarm them! Its so cool).

*The Atmosphere* is what you can expect of the genre. it's a Survival with lite-Horror elements. you can have a feeling of paranoia come down on you and you'll feel your heart racing as you're sprinting to that safe haven with an Animal right on your trails.

*Personal experience*
Atm hiding in a shack somewhere 11 hours in. First time I was genuinely creeped out by something that is
lurking about making very wierd sounds.

I stumbled across this place with a door that is electricity-powered. Being low on Supplies I was starting to get desperate but not quite panicky yet. The few animals I did meet I used no more than a couple bullets but that was not enough at times so I had to run and *only* fire to save my Life. Found a Power plant with the apparatus to turn on electricity but it was in vain. Artyom picks up a gasoline jug as a cue that it needs it to be filled with energy. However all the jugs were empty. I leave the area and decide to come back 2 hrs later and it turned out there was a jug *outside* the Power plant hidden from sight. Excited I pick it up and there was gasoline in it!
I could now open the door and explore whats inside. There was Supplies, alot of MUCH needed supplies!
You any idea how satisfying to gain entry to an Area you've been attempting to figure out for hours?

But remember this. The Ultimate Predator is you so go about and own that World!

Only bought it to get Imperial Age achievement 11. I've no playtime and is purely a first impression based review.

Am I playing Cossacks 3? This game has no resemblance to AoE II whatsoever , besides advancing ages. It has some Battle for Middle Earth features like defeating guardians to get their treasure.

Games probably good in its own respective rights though.

it's an unique game. I normally don't write reviews but had to on this one. the game is unique among games especially to the other titles in the series. I got 700 hrs

- alot of variety creativity and innovation
- the agents are really fun and brilliant
giving them a level up system becoming more proficient in their field
- the implementation of coastal gun batteries in naval battles are genius
and sometimes maps of island mazes to add more tactical opportunities
- Fort design differs often from each region and you have to change your approach
accordingly and make your own plan as the defenders defend until death. had a battle once
where some 400 men killed 1300 men

the seasonal rotations who each got their effect on the nation as a whole
spring for example give +1 happiness
people have been yearning for some more focus on WW1 from game developers where developers has
heeded our call with for example Verdun
SHOGUN 2 has a WW1 feel to it and definitely foreshadows ww1 with only two decades away from trench warfare

plus who doesn't love flaming arrows at nighttime?

EDIT: the computer (AI) is better here than previous titles but do crash to its usual low from time to time to the point a 6 year old could probably play better than the computer
