combat is kinda good, never boring or anything, but game is way too grindy for its own good
also, it is in "free" games instead of "free to play"
which shouldn't be to begin with
character art is really nice, combat is not bad either, and menu is intuitive and all of that but honestly takes way too much to get anywhere or anything and i have only played 8 hours and i don't care anymore

after completing rebirth and afterbirth of course i had to get it, while rebirth i got for free on a giveaway, i paid for both expansions, im late to the party but now that i have played enough i can say i LOVE IT

love the aditions, and while there are still things i wish they did with some item interactions, i think both expansions are worth it but for some reason im liking afterbirt+ a bit more, i dont have too many mods active, and they are only a couple of fixes

the story as confusing as always, as far as i got since i havent got all the characters or endings unlocked yet

but overall a great game, still my most played game on steam and im aiming for all the achievements because is that good

short and sweet, cute graphics, nice music , interesting creatures, and some require an specific order or interact with certain creatures before they can be completed, that was interesting, also some of them are quite funny but not in the "laugh at the joke" way, my only complain would be, i would like more creatures to interact with

wouldnt say its a masterpiece but sure it was DEEP, i would have enjoyed it a bit more if the movement was less janky, but overall, by the moment the game ends one felt...satisfaction on ones SOUL
imagery at the beginning is a bit crude, but it sure conveys perfectly the feeling the game wanted, bit weird the "penis" is so...notorious, but i guess it worked in the context of the game
the game is a bit on the short side but i think it sure packs a lot of thought
thats all i can say from start to end a deep idea and overall well executed...except the movement

will make it short(not really)
i got this game on a giveaway
so i don't know if i would have ever bought it given how many games one WANTS before a new game with low publicity appears

anyway, i got it and i loved i BUT

it has some game breaking bugs that are still the main reason this game still has so many bad reviews

while the combat is kinda solid, and fun that i will admit even if isn't perfect, rpg elements are kinda deep also, with deep story that is indeed affected by your decisions, missions that can be done sometimes in different ways, lore and world building is AMAZING, and it hits all the right notes on the genre, lowest quality of life in a sci-fi post apocalyptic setting, with an oppressive government, even some pseudo-fantasy elements properly integrated in both the story and the game, achievements that feel rewarding, 90% of the items have a purpose, not like some games where all is junk, here even the crappiest thing can be used for something, graphics are not perfect but they feel like a good blend of modern and oldschool though i would admit i don't like all the artistic decisions specially some of the faces (both male and female types one can encounter) but that is just a minor nitpick, again with the items, there is crafting which is simple yet effective and also easy repairing mechanics that never feels pointless, even i would say its a fun mechanic to have and doesn't feel anywhere near as bad as BOTW in terms of weapons breaking, in fact one could go hours without having to repair a weapon, though it does affect things like crits and sometimes in guns not firing a bullet and one having to reload to fix the problem, but it feels natural, all in all an awesome game, great atmosphere, awesome cohesive story, and i forgot to mention characters are interesting, even just the shopkeepers are unique, might not have a deep companion system sadly but one still wont forget some characters easily both main and secondary, conspiracies on would want to uncover, but also see how things will progress and even depending on decisions try to either screw everyone over or be good with everyone which is not easy, deep story with deep meaning, and a lasting impression

almost forgot about the mini games(disable mines, fix generators, hack systems, lock pick) precision patience, they are quite intriguing, i originally hated disabling mines until i got to practice enough, all of them are unique, simple yet need quick reflexes, because there is a time limit) yet they are kinda fun also they are encountered either on mission or just random places with several rewards, they are worth it, most of them require a CARD, a lock pick or parts, resources if you will that will be used whether or not you complete them correctly, but all the main missions that require any of those have infinite tries, they still worth it because you can get resources for either crafting, repairing or selling, even complete requirements for other missions, that would be very expensive otherwise, so if you have the time, learn how each works even if you have to restart the game(save before trying just in case) they rarely disappoint

now, the problems, because while not as many, they ware quite...lets say intrusive

first things first, the language problem, from the beginning and still present even though most of it was patched recently still there are some places it appears, where in the english localization of the game, dialogues AND specially text(maps, menus, and even entire missions) it was sure a problem that still to date is prevalent, as only people who can read russian can really follow...well everything

second most important, this one is kinda ...random?, but missions that cant be completed, one thing is side-missions but another thing is not being able to complete the main story because a random bug/glitch prevents one to, so yeah, this one is another of the reasons this game still not as good as it could be

aside random texture glitches and hitboxes, there are disappearing items...sometimes...apparently fixed though but requires one to start all over again

and finally the one i hate the most, while is probably the least problematic, items used to stack using the sort button, not anymore, and since its a game with so many random items, bullet types, crafting materials, etc, and weight limit....well it sure does make things even worse

so, an AWESOME game, with AWESOME story and interesting characters with fun gameplay and deep RPG elements, with the potential to become a classic, BUT hurt by really annoying and even unavoidable bugs and glitches that can literally make one stop playing the game

forgot to mention, the developer has been invested on this game, and at least a PR member listen and replies, something not many companies indie or otherwise seem to do often

an awesome game badly marked by a misleading marketing campain which omited all about the real time strategy elements, ending up dissapointing people who though it was a hack and slash game

got the game for free on humble bundle that had it for some days

but, after time has passed finally people have come to appreciate this gem that tries to blend up several genres that shouldnt be together, but they do work greatly, all with awesome music, style, references, humor, and an story that not only metal fans can enjoy

i jut played almost 2 hours, and i loved eevry bit of it, from the designs to the world to the mosic, even the voice acting, yes graphics are a bit oudated, but it has its own artistic design it might as well pass as a design choice, this game oozes with style, and manages to work at almost every technicall level except...sometimes the camera movement and driving also selecting solos is a bit irritating because while using a mouse it doesnt respond very well there, and non-rts fans can find it a bit too difficult or rts fans too easy, but all in all, a great game

i will start with some key features and then an small story of how i ended up hooked to the half life series
ok graphic while not awesome by today standars are still great, i mean, 10 whole years, and still looks incredible
while im not familiar with many FPS as i dont tend to play them very often, im pretyt pleased with the weapons, switching and all of that, though i admit, with more recents FPS games, some things could be better, i still think even today it stands up very well, another thing i find great, something that most FPS games lack is, puzzles, not only physical or platforming puzzles but even deciding which weapon to use, when to use it, or what weapon to use after that, and that makes one have to actually cycle throwgh all weapons, also health, yeah, one cant just COD this game,
but even wit a great implemente game mechanic, where this game shines is...its story , told via ingame dialogues, instead of cutscenes, it blends in perfectly, and its an amazing one, yeah it kinda ends on a cliffhanger but its well crafted and paced, ok maybe not all the time, but the story is great, also is just a bit linear, but with the atmosphere, the characters, the voice actors, the hidden clues, if one finds them, a great story overall, admitedly i miss some of the mot common enemies from the first game, but that just because i loved the designs, but thats another thing, half life 2, has designs, from the different enemy types to the characters, they have made a great impact in me, and well, as far as i know, the whole gaming industry, so a fun, well written, full of great design, atmosphere, characters, even the background every now and then a place amazes me just by looking at it, greatly implemented puzzles, not all ar intuitive, but al alwasy rewarding, and great game mechanics, sadly an incomplete story, the fact that too little returns from the previous games, and even ignore that one's expansions excelent additions, makes it just below perfect, anyway im still amazed how many times i have gone back to play this game, it has lots of cliches, from the silent protagonist, to the "hold on to the enemies while i slowly open this door" and so on but it does it in a way that works, they are there, thats for sure, but arent annoying or dumb, or just there for the sake of it, but i had to point that out, also, yeah there is also the fact that there are still many tings in the story that are just references casually found here and there and ome arent exactly obvious, knowing more about the inmense world they have crafter for these saga would be great, and SADLY i dont think we will see another game for a long time "hint hint"

here a little story of how i got introduced to it

all started with portal, i got that one when it was free for a short period of time, i dont remember the specific reason, anyway, it required me to download at least the demo of half life 2, anyway, loved portal, awesome game and all, but felt like the half life 2 demo was just sitting in there doing nothing, and i not being a fan of first person shooters i was reluctant to play it...well just to not waste it, i did, and was one of the bet decitions i have ever made, the demo goes almost inmediately to ravenholm, probably one of the most scary part of the game, but it was oozing with ATMOSPHERE, with....something, so i had to play the full version, understand what was going on, so i played the first game, i was amazed, even with its god awful graphics(something the second game doesnt suffer from) i had to know how everything ended up like ravenholm or everything else, tthen i played the second game and after it the first's xpansions, and i have repeated them, just because they are simply awesome

nice graphics, good gameplay and overall pretty well done, my only complain is, you can only see enemy information on the encyclopedia, buildings, tips and other info, redirects to the corresponding page ON THE WEB, i wish they moved it to the game itself
also, some enemy designs sure bring some feelings, like flu being disgusting(in the good sense) and cancer looking totally epic

engaging in many ways, an excellent mix of genres, and though as others have said, slow at the beginning, it is pretty well designed, and is sad to see this great game not get the attention it deserves, i mean, retro 3d design, platforming, rpg and turn based combat system(not in the platforming parts), various upgrades to purchase and ways to use them, this game is just nostalgic, isolated and still engaging in the best way possible, yet it mostly going to dissapear in the shadow of fnaf, another complain would be, maybe how little explanation one begins with, yet the moe you play the more you get to know about the setting of the game, unlike...fnaf, i would just say, is not fair to compare both games, being such different genres but being the same developer, i think is still needed,
