Recently, I helped my dad with a trip to Home Depot. We bought 13 25 Lb bags of gravel, a 10’ 2x12 cut into 5’ lengths, and some other random small items. I realized between me, my dad and the items we were basically at the GVWR for the truck. And it was squatting hard with the bed barely 1/3 full.
Then my wife and I took the taco on a road trip through the mountains. The gear hunting had always annoyed me a little but I can live with it most of the time. On a road trip it was significantly more noticeable and annoying. And the gas mileage was no better than what my buddy gets and he has a leveled F150 Platinum with a v8 rolling on 33s…
Those two experiences have me thinking that for the like $48k or whatever exactly it was I paid, I should have just sucked it up and gotten a more capable full size truck.
