Average CS2 community experience:
1. Players complain (rightfully) about the lack of updates and cut content from CS:GO.
2. Same players continue to throw heaps of cash into gambling and skins.
3. Valve continues to not give a sh*t.

These three steps repeat ad infinitum.

I can say without a doubt that this game is one of THE most iconic and memorable franchises of all time that will hold a special place in my heart until my last breath. Now you may ask: why the negative review then?

Because I'm sickened by what it has become due to neglect by the clown company known as Valve. Frequent cheating, rampant use of idle bots to farm items and a dev team that has been essentially reduced to 2-3 people in a basement, whose only job is to add a new cosmetic cosmetic case and some randomly picked maps every few months. I mean, look at the game's store page: the first thing you see is the trailer for Jungle Inferno, the last big content update from OCTOBER OF 2017. The frequent community outcry about these issues was met with "TF2 community, we hear you!". That was in May of 2022, it has been 2 years and nothing has changed, and at this point I'm sure nothing will.

Looking at this game just makes want to cry: the fact that something so amazing didn't go out with a bang or even with something as simple as a FINISHED COMIC SERIES is depressing. Instead it has been left to slowly wither away, all the potential it held being flushed down the drain by Valve's apathy.

Out of all the Borderlands games, I'd say the Pre-Sequel is the most underrated one. Obviously it's not on par with the greatness of BL2, but it does provide you with some interesting mechanics and fun characters to play with in addition to providing you with more lore about the characters/events from BL2/TFTB. People have complained about things such as Oz kits and zero gravity but personally I found them to be enjoyable cause they made traversing the world a lot faster.

I wouldn't buy the Pre-Sequel at full price. However, it has had discounts of 75% (in some cases even 90%) in the past, so I'd definitely recommend getting it on sale if you enjoyed BL2/TFTB. And, worst case scenario, it still won't be as big of a slog to sit through as Borderlands 3's story lol.

Note: this review will be a bit biased since I'm a long time Savant fan.

Savant Ascent can be described as a sort of bullet - hell platformer. The gameplay can be summed up as moving between two platforms and taking out various enemies that appear around you over time whilst trying to dodge their attacks. The game has two modes: story and endless. In story mode you face waves of enemies before facing different boss fights. Even though the beginning of the game is quite simple it can became pretty intense later on (especially with the final boss fight). Endless is essentially you facing non - stop enemy barrages and trying to survive as long as possible.

However, I feel that the visual and audio presentation is where this game shines the most. During your playthrough you can collect disc fragments that can unlock new Savant songs, which you can change in the Pause menu. These EDM tracks by Savant really add to the mood by hyping you up. The pixel art and backgrounds are also beautiful.

Personally it took me about 8 hours to 100% the game and get all the achievement. The only complaint that I have is that sadly there is no Steam cloud - save feature but, apart from that, for only 2€ (or 1€ during sales) this game is a steal, especially if you're really into EDM cause the tracks are truly bangers.

P. S. There is currently an Anniversary Edition of the game in the works so make sure to wishlist if it tickles your fancy.

This game is honestly an audio-visual masterpiece with a fascinating setting and story. The gameplay loop can get somewhat repetitive but I like how the game encourages you to switch up functions and limiters in order to gain more insight into the lore of the world.

However, my only and biggest gripe is from the section near the end of the game (SPOILERS AHEAD):
THE "MAN" ENEMIES, MY GOD. I really wouldn't mind them so much but the fact that before your final fight with Royce they just spam these non-stop just made the last section such a slog. Honestly if they had added all the other enemies from your previous encounters into the mix for some tense interactions where you had to use everything you had learned it would've felt much more satisfying. The fight with Royce tho was interesting, no complaints there.

All in all, the game is about 10 hours (20 with NG+), which I think is fair for the price but you can always wait for a sale since it gets a 80% discount and at that point it's an absolute steal.
