Pay2win garbage. To start off you're going have to pay an extra 8/9 bucks just to be able to use 4 extra skills on your hotbar, and this is for each character you make.. not account shared. Overpriced cash shop, going to have to pay almost 30 bucks for a costume if you want your character to look unique. They limit you in a lot of aspects to nickel and dime you for "convenience" items... like the skill usage I mentioned above. Want more mana gain from your attacks or when you're recieving damage so you can you use more skills in a dungeon/pvp? Well you can just buy a mana necklace for 8$ more for a pernament version.

Want a nice pet? pay up. Do you want that pet to pick up all your drops from the dungeon? You got to pay even more on top of that. Anyways, the game is really repetitive/grindy.. no surprise for your typical Korean MMO. Endgame revolves around you repeating the same dungeons to complete daily quests. PVP is completely unbalanced starting from the characters and to the gear and bonuses some costumes give. The pay2win factor can really be noticed there.

Don't get me started on the economy. Due to inflation and like zero money sinks, this game's currency (ED) is pretty much considered worthless. I always wondered why Korea Elsword always had a better economy compared to their other region counterparts. It just makes me think that KOG and KOG GAMES (gamer's publisher/developer) doesn't care at all for the nonKorea servers and just sees an opportunity to squeeze as much money as possible from us. Also there's a stamina system in this game that limits how much you can play each day .

This game is indeed fun though with its combat, and I really do love the character designs also (especially Aisha's and Ara's) .It might be fun at first, but after reaching max level and grinding dailes to craft gear... I was like what's the point if I'm struggling to play this game regularly without using my wallet frequently. If you're not going to spend money on this game especially for pvp, I wouldn't even bother playing it. The combat got boring after repeating the same dungeons over and over. And on top of the overpriced cash shop, the broken economy, unbalanced pvp, pay2win aspects, and the toxic community (at least when I played)... I would say it's better to pass on this game and play something else.

Edit: I understand that there's an extreme fear of "pay2win" when it comes to f2p mmos/mmorpgs nowadays. I also apologize if I repeated that word too much here on my review. But after playing both on the NA and Philippines(including b4 the International Merge) server for almost 2 years, I believe that this fear is true with this game and not an exaggeration.

I bought all these steam games from the summer/winter sales, and I don't even play them.

Well if you like open world games, then I'm sure you'll like this one. A decent amount of things to do around Hong Kong while taking a break from the story. The main story was interesting- the idea of being an undercover cop, while having a personal relationship with the gang at the same time. Anyways for $7.50 when I got it on sale, I really did get a lot out of it during this nice time sink.
