The second-to-last boss is a crime against humanity. You get trapped in a dungeon without a bonfire, with all your runes stuck on you, unable to teleport, and you have to fight this repulsive bullet hell section for 80s that has attacks that GO THROUGH YOUR SHELL and CANNOT BE PARRIED. It's infuriating. I spent the entire game prior to that never leveling Vitality, which I could do, because Defense is categorically better if you're in a good shell. Then, outta nowhere, the entire paradigm around which I built my character gets obviated, I'm stuck at the bottom of a cave, and I can't get out unless I get good RNG.

Everything else was top-tier tho.

Sekiro is better, but this is still good on its own merits. Weapons felt a bit clunky, big start up / ending lag, like in Dark Souls, even worse than Strength weapons in Elden Ring. Bosses are satisfying, but a little lackluster towards the end. Once you get the blocking mechanic down, it's basically game over. Dodging is worthless, don't try rolling, just block or parry through all attacks.

This game is skill progression at its finest. I was always challenged just enough to make me grow, never so much that I hated the game. Play this.
