TL;DR Game is review bombed, overall it´s fun.

I didn´t play the first betas but I like the current format also, it´s maybe not survival per se.

Most of the negative sides are unfounded:
- like I thought in beta zombies are target practice for tutorial area. Managed to burn through all my Activators and Adrenalines on 4th Monolith Boss.
- no mouse smoothing for me: managed to pull 3 consecutive 1 kill HS on spread out targets <1s. Not a CoD God level achievement but with bad mouse response it would have been impossible even for me...
- Performance is choppy at times, defo needs a lot of improvement. But the devs seem to be aware bc ingame message board is full of apology letters. And given how bad 95% of Quadruple AAAA games are at day1 I let it slide. Especially given that I haven´t stumbled on any bugs, glitches etc. Relatively smooth ride till now.
- About Privacy Policy. There was a certain other game released few days before this one, and it´s PP was full of suprises(clearly stated it was installing soft(mal)ware on your PC). The topic over PP over this game is over blown imo. Yes you can link the game to Discord etc social accounts AND only then they can and need to get your credentials. But it´s YOUR choice to fiddle with the linking, and you need to go through several tabs for this.

About the game:

- Gun Play is good- again maybe not CoD lvl but still every gun has it´s distinctive characteristics and it gets better with effect combos. Lots of cool combos can be achieved.
- Building is fantastic- didn´t care much about it in other games(Skyrim), here it´s super fun.(besides building the roof, which was better in beta imo)
- lots of materials to use and gather, overall supply and gear crafting is fun and becomes more important the game goes on.
-Graphics is good, better than most other AAA games.
-world building is enjoyable also. Monsters and enemies are detailed and interesting, building are filled with objects, wildlife is lush, map is big. Overall good experience, not on ROTR level but still good.
- Vehicles
-Swimming(seems like a trivial feature but not implemented in every game)
- Lots to do- missions leading to Big Bosses(dungeons), side quests, World Events, not enough time in RL to do it all...

Updating a 8y old game just to add NO-Privacy Policy, so that they could sell all the data from your PC.

+Very good game

-Very Bad Launcher
-With the worst NO-Privacy Policy.

Just for the conference call.
Originals were better, DN Forever is not on bar with Doom´16.
But still fun to chew some bubblegum and kick some *ss.

Short Campaign so would buy for short money.

This has to be the worst Single Player and the worst Multi Player game I´ve played in my gaming history.
Ofc I´m newbi, just installed, watching around what to do- 1st patch of Teammates just DC.
2nd patch joines up and TK me and leaves the game.
You know, if anybody have tips how to play or so- use the mic or there is even the text chat option.

Anyway the fastest refund for me.
If it was 1 random teammate out of 100th acting up, but this community is worse than the swetlordz in WZ.

Long story short- The good game, Finally. Let´s get ready to rummmbbbleeee.

Everyone remember when the social feeds were spammed with posts like " We don´t care about the state of the game, just release it already" ?
And now few seconds after the realease the game gets review bombed?
I think for a small and passionate devs they did well-
We got to play, Finally.
No waiting queues for <1min and then you still have to manage crashing servers like with "other multi billion dollar companies".

For me it felt the same, perf is good, game is fun, SOUNDS- you can actually hear players coming and the sounds even give away the direction. How many "other multi billion dollar companies" have implemented the feature after 3 iterations and dozens of Seasons?
It might need some work, but it doesn´t deserve the review bombing imo.

It´s a FREE game in the end, at least give them a chance to fix their alleged mistakes. They might not get a chance to even adjust the course if it crashes in the 1st day under heavy review bombing.

If you like some balances made, it would be a good idea to send feedback on other channels. If that doesn´t work you´d still have the chance to review bomb the game afterwards.

For excellent platformer experience better try out Ori and Blind Forest(pure fun and laughed on most of the death, bc it was platformer and dying in lava is part of the game)
Here in Doom Eternal when most of the death (I´d say 2\3rd of overall) are bc clumsy game mechanics(can´t double jump over knee high rocks, dropping in lava bc some demon shot pushed u there) is not fun. In a SHOOTER most of the death should come from SHOOTING.
There´s too much jumping, punching, ammo hunting and not really much shooting. And as the dev mentioned in the interview, when you get the hang of the game and start enjoying the music and slaying they make it frustrating by setting up a canyon to jump over and other side of the ledge is waiting 10x shot boss. So either fall to lava(again) or get 1 shot by boss.

And it´s not I don´t like challenge. I was grinding my teeth for 10h in Doom´16 in the train station map trying to get through Pistol Only Challenge. But at least most of the death were my clumsy shooting and bad planning not falling in lava. Also I enjoy once in a while my fav maps in Doom´16 in Nightmare mode in "Pistol Only Challenge mode". But can´t say the same for Doom Eternal in Hurt Me Plenty mode. I´m just happy I can uninstall this nightmare from my PC now. Baught it for good money and now I can say I finished it and didn´t change my mind.
PS Finished Wolf 3d on my Nokia Symbian phone for 2x and didn´t finish any of those scripted unchallenging boring COD\BF campaigns. But this game is way on other side of the spectrum and then beyond that.

In short:
Not enough shooting
Too much jumping and dying in lava.
Dev meant to create this game as frustrating game not as fun and challenging shooter.

PS2 I have only 0.6h on play time bc of this stupid online XP mumbo jumbo Bethesda account requiremeant. On a damned SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN. Even this is a reason not to suggest this game to anybody as it´s playable only in Steam OFfline mode.

Have played JABIA "a bit", it was tedious but somehow I grew to like the tactical shooter, ability to pause was a big plus. Also played through the JABIA DLC-s. Imho DLC-s were the most fun of those 3 "games". Played all of 3 as vanilla, I didn´t use NO mods. Also turned LOS off on settings and played with Normal difficulty.

JA: Crossfire is the sequel which I somehow overlooked but was exactly the thing to "itch my scratch" for tactical shooter\strategy game. Although being direct successor to JABIA as a standalone campaign, it´s still different.

As with JABIA, the tactical game play is fun, till lvl4-5s come to play, as usual. Since then it´s fun to plan out simultanious actions, and let the guns blaze.
But as you need to make sure that every shot lands, you have to make sure if the LOS is actually clear(the green FOV doesn´t indicate it correctly), so you have to pan the camera up and down. In JABIA that usually worked as the ground was flat, here in JACF action takes place in mountains, so there´s really hard to check the LOS. Which makes the game even more frustrating than it was in JABIA, especially when enemies have now the higher ground advatage and can crouch and shoot fast as you can´t get shots even when at f4 stance.

Also the map is built so that all the good sniping positions are somehow just not accessible.
To counter that, stealth play is somewhat more relevant here in JACF. Even when the whole map is full of lvl5s, I was able to sneak behind on some of them and let the silenced Automag do the talking:P

Now to the campaign- while in JABIA I was able to max out my equipment before the last push, thanks to high rewards from KP etc(Found out about the box of cereals only on 2nd game play). Here in JACF I was able to get my cash reward after I already cleared out all the enemies, not to mention the hassle with artifacts. Tried to hold my ground till 2nd squad went to bring some resupplies but was bombarded by enemy squads so often that I finally decided to save scum and go straight to final battle with almost all armor broken and half men on half HP(needed to rest on World Map, but couldn´t).

As the campaign design was flawed, so the missions didn´t offer any sense of achievement.

And the usual stuff plaguing JA series since JABIA: enemies are bots seeing through walls, alway choosing perfect position before I could set my squads in position, shooting smoke(I think in JABIA they didn´t shoot through smoke), in JACF inventory\nades "fell" through stairs, hard to position units on stairs.

Ddunno if the funny remarks from squad members were removed bc of the whine at them in JABIA, but that was keeping the game fun at least a bit in JABIA.

Still had to spam nades to come out alive from 12-13 lvl4\5s attacking my standing in middle of road. And that´s what was bad in JAFC, there was nowhere to take cover from. Jabia at least had some rocks or wood to hide yourself behind, here it was unaccessable mounains or flat roads. Really annoying.

I got the only weapons shop opened by mission after the game was over. In JABIA every major target had lots of guns(MGs\snipers) to buff your squad up. Helped a lot when you could mow down -5+ enemies rushing ur location at time. in JAFC had 1 lousy sniper which didn´t hit after 5s+ aiming even 1 from 3 shots, not to mention MGs. Didn´t have a single MG the whole time, in maps designed to have large open fields to cross. Really, really bad campaigns and map design.

So in conclusion, it was a good follow up as a tactical shooter but did everything worse than JABIA:
- bad campaign and mission design
-bad map design
-AI still acting like wallhacking bots. though stealth approach was more viable.
-didn´t lag so much(maybe upgarading CPU to i7 from i5 helped)
- NO funny monologue in JAFC, hence boring.
-enemies were still superior on close combat 1v1 even if I had Vector and what I could tell enemy had G36 or such.
-accessibility to equipment

There are not many choices on turn based tactical shooters, so it fills the void. But I´d rather play the JABIA DLC-s again than this.
Maybe try with MODs first, could even the playing field a little.

Fired this game up after a pause(~6month) and LOL-d hard at the very beginning, on the first hire: "Fidel is not himself lately. And it´s not a bad thing".
Haven´t finished the prequels- tried them as a kid a bit- and maybe this game isn´t like the prequels, but it doesn´t mean it´s bad to the bones. The characters are funny and the whole game has the "parody thing" going on.

The best thing about JABIA is the camera handling imo. With ALT key it´s possible to peak behind every corner and with aided aiming lines it´s possible to precisely plan my actions.
And for the good camera work I´ve ditched "other" turn based games to come enjoy this one.

In general if you know the rules the game sets for you, then it´s more certain in outcome than other tactical turn based games. And that´s what I like about this game; if I choose the right team with right equipment for the job then the outcome is mine to decide. Main factors to take into account are equipment+skills which decide my mercs aiming time and enemies are wallhacking aimbots.
But both sides hit if the teamwork is planned correctly. If the rules are accepted from the very beginning then the game can be entertaining- can´t be anything better than setting team to nade the room and then rush in to clean the room with pump action shotguns and all that executing out in a few secs.

Now to the AI part. Yep the AI and game mechanics is unfinished. It´s actually possible to go on stealth kills against lvl 1(maybe 2 also) enemies but but later in game against higher level AI the only way is rambo style. (DLC Point Blank was fun bc I could go with 45 cal silenced pistol and take out the whole garrison alone). In the early stage it´s important to choose correct merc for certain tasks, if it says expert in stealth, then stealth approach is doable etc...
The most fun part is the start of the game, where I can play out different approaches till it goes rambo style with 2 squads of rambos.

And for as old a game as this, it still looks good though unoptimised.

Later in game there is indeed lot´s of micromanagement- all actions must be double checked on mercs, mules have to carry equipment over the map etc. But grinding money for equipment can be fun too.

One good side of the game is that when I return to my favourite multiplayer FPS I always think more tactically and am doing much better. Haven´t experienced this with any other tactical turn based games, so it must do something right in the end...

Got Directors Cut from steam sales and feel a bit shamed like always. I had the original already and thought DC would be waste of money but instead I got a reason to play it again and am thankful for that. The Missing Link was a "cherry on top".

As the boss fights supposed to be redesigned I didn´t shoot much but in the very beginning and noticed gun flash, don´t know if its my upgraded GPU or DC but liked it. Overall the graphics look decent for today but this isn´t the game to be graphics freak anyway.

What grasped my attention is music score- was immersed to game already in Game Menu. Also I find voice acting very truthful and lively, felt in all dialogues that characters were really argueing\communicating with Adam. Oh and Jensens smokey badass don´t-give-a-crap-I´ll-kick-your-ass voice is one of best of the games I´ve played.

Was really frustreted while trying to play original DE:HR silently and encountered enemy bosses and found out that shooting was more encouraged still. With this "ghost" gameplay I noticed redesigned boss levels with opportunity to cloak and hack through fights.

The story and choises, including going through dialogues with "silver tongue", was interesting even after several playthroughs(DC counts playtime from scratch). Also the XP rewarding eBooks add to the story and hacking through personal mails give some colour to the world.

Overall Directors Cut added some welcomed changes and extra mission added some challenge to play on "Give me Deus Ex" as the situations were new and required some game saves to be loaded;)

Jagged Allience has had a funny side to it. And boy, I really LOL when I saw Scullys inventory. There are 2 other mercenaries also at start.
Liked the map becuase it had some spots to dismantle step by step from snipers in height to stealth kills in rooms.
There was opportunity to use couple of weapons which had no use in other missions.
All in all it took less time to play through than Shades of Red, but this game has given me over 300h gametime now, so it was worth it, though it was more buggy and crashed a lot more than other missions.
If you´ve played JABIA through multiple times and like to play unfamiliar grounds then go for it. If you have never liked JABIA, well why bother with DLC.

(There´s lots of talk about JABIA being glitchy, unbalanced etc. But its still much better to handle than other tactical games(khmDAIkhm). Camera work is way better than AAA games and a certain close contender to this one have.)
