This JRPG is a doujin (non-japanese made) which made me skeptical at first, but since it was free i ended up trying it.
I've really enjoyed the game, especially the gameplay. The story seems childish at the start, however precisely ecause of that it really shows how hard things are for the MC (main Character) as you progress through the story. The gameplay could be considered a formality due to how the story is => they included a "visual novel mode" difficulty for those who are only interested in story - impossible to lose and also impossible difficulties for masochists

Story - 7/10 strong first few hours eased my way into the story. Too many cliches throughout the story for my liking tho and a very strong story towards the end. However it is definatly parts 1 and 2 out of 3 in this trilogy. It has set up a really good stage for the 3rd part which could be amazing. honestly the only shortcoming from my point of view was that at times the MC seemed slightly dumb. Though i think it wouldnt bother most people.

Characters 8/10 Some of the characters are carbon copies of what you'd expect, there is a "tsudere-chan" and so on. At first it bothered me, but later on in the story when things got more complicated some brilliant characters made appearances. especially the pirates are executed brilliantly. all in all i have to say the mental arc was exellent thanks for that!

Gameplay 9/10 I loved the gameplay. Partly because i felt nostalgic since it resembled other games i've played. It is a turn-based strategy game which punishes you mercilessly (if you make the difficulty sadistic). Its been a long time since i've had to go all out, planing, save-scumming, researching intelligently, dying repeatedly and so on. Normally doing this too much would turn most people off, to counter this they made the difficulties changable whenever you want => when your fed up you lower it and rofl stomp te baddies. Truly a great game considering its in a VN.

CGs / Music 6/10 honestly i think this is the weakest link in the game. Which makes the VN feel alive. It made it really feel like a small group of people fed their soul into this, rather than their money. as a result the gameplay is amaing the story is solid and the characters have a lot of thought put into them and when the devs are focused on that (IMO more important stuff) the time consuming boring stuff gets neglected. As a result the Visuals are a bit lacking (but a few of the CGs are really nice!). Most painful for me though was the music. A lot of the time it felt like it was a try hard which was a shame. I would love to see the music improved in the next game! (For the Devs: during the last few hours it would have been great to get my heart pounding to the great story and the sound of music, don't be afraid to be extravagent on the music! In other words the highs and lows dont differ enough in the music for my taste)

Over all i can only recommend this game, its not a full blown Visual Novel with all of the oddities that go with them. Therefor it felt like a great game for people new to Visual Novels and a nice change of pace for the veterans. Its Free so try it!

Who's it for:
poeple who ponder about "what is War? why do we have Wars?"
Young gamers new to Visual Novels
Gamers looking for a challenging Tur-based strategy game

Who's it going to turn off:
people who dislike chlichés
those who think the world is pink
people who go looking for romance (i hope that i can remove this with the release of the 3rd part)
