I had so much fun finally experiencing a game from ground 0 again. For so many recent games, I spoil the experience by watching videos and reviews on the items. MHW is a game I knew I was going purchase as soon as I heard it was coming to PC. Learning all the environmental hacks and experiencing the turf wars - MY GOD THE TURF WARS - is what makes this game such a joy.

Hunting with friends on PSP was the bomb diggidy and finally there was one that enough of my friends wanted to get (thank you Dauntless). Get some friends and play. If you are the friend without it, don't look anything up, don't watch guides, and dive in. If you don't want to blow money on a new game archetype, go try Dauntless (f2p btw) and then come back and pick MHW up.

Dust does a wonderful job of telling a story. The story, at times sad, at times hilarious, is a great one. It is well put together and very pretty to look at. The soundtrack, while not super amazeballs on its own, fits perfectly when it needs to. Invoking adventure, anxiety, excitement, and sorrow in the player.

The combat is fluid and fairly intuitive, using directions and three different forms of attacks. It is short, taking around 15 hours to 100%, with next to no replayability but those 15 hours were well spent. Any decent sale makes this game well worth the buy.

You will finish this game with a smile on your face.
