10.7 hrs on record
I've been playing horror indies as long as there's been a scene for them. I've enjoyed plenty, disliked some. This is the only one I've ever cared about enough to hated. For me, It's a genuine work of art ruined by mechanical and narrative shortfalls.

Aesthetically, it's great. It draws from the edgelord anime zeitgeist (BLAME, Neon Genesis, NieR, GitS). I like that kind of stuff. It has a strong visual style, and, on a surface level, maintains a suitable vibe. some great enemy designs.

Mechanically, I had a miserable time. I payed on survival (hardest of 3 options). Don't do this. The aiming system falls apart whenever two enemies overlap. The boss fight are terrible. Resources are so scarce on Survival that you often have to reload old saves because you used too much of the wrong thing half an hour ago. Traversing the map consists of continuous, boring backtracking, either to go do some objective, or just circumventing one room because you can't spend the ammo to clear it. bullets cannot kill enemies, so using ammo always feels like waste.

In the 10 hrs I put in, I never experienced fear or horror. Mostly, I was just annoyed. Enemies can't open doors, and you have to abuse this a lot on Survival, which completely ruins the tension of every encounter. Nothing outside of combat got me either.

It's Inaccessible, largely by design. One of the enemies seems purpose-build to induce epileptic seizures, a third of the text is in German or Japanese (Note: slapping this all over your cool world-building this gives off the impression that you wish the Axis had won WW2. Being a pair of German weebs is not an excuse, it is cause for care), and the lo-fi visuals often make it difficult to read numbers in the UI.

The narrative is truly weak. It's (pretty) evident from the outset that you're (probably) a cyborg lady trying to find her (possibly) gf, but the game refuses to tell you anything definite about the characters, their motivations, or the relevant aspect of the world for HOURS. I wasn't able to finish it, but what I saw was a shallow narrative played out by one-dimensional characters. The occasional cute gay moment wasn't enough to save it.

I'm leaving a negative review because I had a bad time. Give it a try anyway.
