I relate to this a little too much. If you're mentally ill, at least in a way that tends to alienate you from others, I think you should give this a try.

This game was a huge part of my childhood, so glad to have achievements for it on steam! Part of me doesn't even want to get all of the achievements, because that means I have to go through their bad endings );

I'll change this review when they revert the UI changes and optimize the ♥♥♥♥ out of the game.

The new UI is HORRENDOUS, legitimately the worst user experience I have ever had. I thought that CoD's newest ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ was bad, but this is infinitely worse in my opinion. And the game barely ran when I got into a match, the majority of the assets (rocks, fences, buildings, trees, foliage, etc.) loaded 30 seconds AFTER the round started, my mouse cursor was on the screen the entire time and I couldn't get rid of it, and 10 minutes in I opened the map and it froze for a few minutes before I closed it using the task manager.

I can't say if the balance changes they made were good because I couldn't even play it, in its current state Hunt 1896 is a buggy unoptimized mess of a game, a straight downgrade in every way except MAYBE the sound and music.
