One of the best survivor games I've ever played. I'm looking forward playing the 2nd one to see if it lives to its predecesor.

Before starting the review, I will state that I'm a fan of the series...

The game is good, but it has some weaknesses.
Pros:
- The plot of the game is real good, with some plot twists and many information that enriches the Darksiders lore.
- The 4 element system is quite interesting, and how you need to switch among them to solve some puzzles.
- Also about the 4 element system, I think it was really well implemented in the combat system, increasing the fight possibilities.
- The secondary weapons are good and appealing, but the whip makes them almost completely unnecessary...
- The bosses' fights are really good, each boss is unique and most of the fights were challenging, but you can pass all of them just by learning their attacks.
- The mobs' difficulty was challenging while you are beginning the game, but once you reach lvl 40 or so, they become really easy. Either way, if you are reckless you can easily die no matter the level you have.

Cons:
- The game needs a better optimization for PC, sometimes (little ones) it starts to run slowly and with some loading moments, but it is not something that happens often.
- You don't really need most of the secondary weapons, they may be interesting some times, but you can skip them most of the game, because apart from the range weapon, the others are almost useless.
- I loved the plot and the storyline, but I think that there were many things left in the air that needed to be explained. Let's wait for the DLCs.
- Even though the game is really linear, I missed the map a lot. It is hard to navigate through some parts of the game and to rescue all survivors and get items/ hunt chosen ones, you need to be attentive to the sorroundings. To play without map was refreshing, but I think it is something necessary today.
- The game was really short compared to DS I & II.
- Even though the game is a good continuation to the DS story, it was a lower version of what we have seen before. For me the best DS game is the 2nd, and this game is like a 3rd part of it.

Well, those are the things I have to say about the game after almost 20 hours of playing. I will replay it and trying to get the things I missed in the first run. Of course I will recommend this game, and the ending hyped me to the clouds, but I would like to see further explanations of the things that were not explained in the main game through DLCs...

I hope this review help you to decide to buy the game or not, my personal advice is to buy it, so we will have a 4th version with the gunslinger, Strife!
