I go because it's fun to share stories about my Skyrim character. I role play in Skyrim, and I just like to stalk the most attractive women in the game. Then I kill them, collect their souls, and use them to enchant my weapons and armor and then I name the pieces after them. I have a almost a full suit of armor. It's great way to spend time in the game outside the main quest line. I have to stalk for a while to make sure they are worthy, and I've ritualized the killing on their death-day, so that takes a while too.
My other character has a harem of NPCs I keep in a mountain palace. I've created them to look like women I know, and used photos of the women to create custom textures for their skin. It takes a lot of mods, but it's worth it, and people in gaming better understand the effort and pleasure.
