Game was a bit of a disappointment after my first time through. You are given very limited options to actually govern your nation in a successful way. How does investing in your economy do so little to stimulate it? Why are you not given the opportunity to campaign and lobby for re-election in any meaningful way? It's as if every thing is pre-decided to stop you from governing in a way that isn't exactly one or two paths. There is very little freedom to follow your own path without Sordland ending up in shambles. Idk just want more versatility I suppose.

Play with cheats, the AI sure do. I made it to the mid 2030's and for some reason US, China, Russia, and EU have continued to declare war on me non stop since the end of the 2020's even though I am far from the strongest faction. As the resistance I find it odd that humanity first would declare war on me since we're both trying to resist the aliens and I purposefully didn't act against them. Diplomacy is a joke but if it was expanded I think it would add a lot to the game. Anyway I also find it odd that 3 factions all declare war on me all at the same time even though they all have differing objectives, and when the aliens finally arrive I get invaded by them too almost immediately so my poor control points just got absolutely wiped out without any hope of survival. Honestly cant believe I spent 30 hours just to get my ♥♥♥♥ kicked in by ♥♥♥♥♥♥ AI.

Game has a lot of potential though, I'd love to see diplomacy improvements to be just more the non aggression pacts that seemingly do nothing, like alliances and so forth. And I think the game would benefit from far less busy work. I really enjoyed the org mechanic and stacking my council members with orgs like CIA and DARPA. I also would love to see actual navies instead of them just being glorified transport. Idk lots of potential but fell pretty short for my taste.

I hate trolls.

Gives me good memories from a time long long ago.

It's a little ruff around the edges but it's got some pretty cool core tactical gameplay that I could see myself investing some time into.

Even for $10 this game isn't worth it
