As much as I want to suggest this game, I cannot. It's a 70 dollar version of a game you can get for free from abandon ware sites with an extra 8 hours of padding. It claims to be a remake, but puts very obvious references to the originals in a form of a blatant, slap in the face objects placed in the location, and a musical cue that can be equated to a set of jingling keys. Not to mention that the wide array of weaponry available in the original have been completely stripped down to a single melee weapon, and only the original 3 guns. Not to mention the inventory has been rendered obsolete thanks to hotkeys and healing being on a single button. They also somehow managed to make the game control worse than the original. Combat was clunky in the original, but every mistake was your own. You didn't have James taking up 2/3rd of the screen All of the atmosphere has been completely stripped down and filled with block push puzzles, and obvious, white sheet marked traversables. All while James grunts and groans in your ear the entire game. Silent hill is one of my favorite game series (though I'm not the biggest fan of 2), and to see it done this dirty just makes me wonder "why blooper?" They tried to take everything that the Resident Evil remakes made good while removing everything that made Silent Hill originally better than that series. Instead of buying this game, I suggest going to MyAbandonWare.com, and simply playing the original PC version of restless dreams.
