This game is unforgiving, but so good.

This game really has style. It's a love letter to 80s cinematic nostalgia. The gameplay is sort of hit and miss, like DBD. You get some sweaty killers that just hit-and-run until they get their abilities back up, and you'll sometimes get unreliable teammates, but when you do blast the monster, it feels great. The problem right now is the queue times are OVER 15 minutes for survivor/teen.


This game has a lot of potential as a quick fun group game but right now because of the matchmaking difficulties I gotta give it a negative, to show the devs that they need to do better here. Private games and better matchmaking.

I *want* to give this game a positive/recommended review, but waiting 15 mins for a 5 minute round (or less), I can't do that. Fix matchmaking, and the game's an easy 8.5 out of 10.

The game did poorly prior to launch, so they tried to sell 75 dollar beers.
The game did poorly on launch, so they tried to sell stock in their company, without reporting any financial data.
The game's doing poorly post-launch, so now they're requiring email addresses to so they can sell your personal data.

Terrible company, mediocre-to-bad game.

Take that scene from John Carpenter's The Thing where MacReady has the dynamite and everyone's pointing fingers at each other and yelling. Now, take out the alien, and every character is now a hyperactive wannabe Sherlock Holmes and that's this game.

This game is nothing but a time-sink. Tiresome, endless grind, broken mechanics and a game company that would rather punish its playerbase than fix their bugs.

With access to hundreds of games and the ability to add your own, this is easily the best value game on Steam.

A download that lasts longer than the replayability of the game.

Get ready for more of the same.

Basically a re-skinned Civ 5 with the same minor tweaks you could expect from a workshop mod. Same gameplay, same broken AI that admonishes you while doing the exact action which seems to upset them when you do it. Far less effort this time in writing, narrative and music.

Doesn't feel like a full game. The shark menus don't feel very interactive. They don't even indicate to the player when something has been clicked. The gameplay is very repetitive, and while fun, gets old very quickly.

Because of the reliance on teamplay, this game can be pretty frustrating in pubs. At the 30 dollar price point, this is not a good deal. Even at 10, I have doubts. There are also balance issues. A relatively aware diver team will always win.

I'd pick this up for 5 bucks if you wanted a brief distraction.

So nice, I bought it twice.


Edit: I can no longer recommend this game. The CDT that took over the balance changes have completely destroyed the game with a mix of completely arbitrary balance changes designed to placate a minority of comp players that are extremely vocal.

Somehow, every iteration since 2018 has made the game worse.

If you're reading this post-2018, you missed the fun. Sorry.
