I absolutely love this game. The gameplay is pretty simple, topdown roll-around beat-em-up with fetch quests from town hubs and plenty of screens where you just kill all enemies. For most of the game the enemy roster is pretty small, but it expands enough later.

Boss fights are interesting and mechanically unique.

The major strength is decent but simple humor and the artstyle, straight out of early 2000's Cartoon Network style animation. If you grew up with Dexter's Lab, Steven Universe, Samurai Jack, Time Squad, Gumball, and so on then it'll feel like a nostalgia rush. A bit of Kim Possible and My Life As A Teenage Robot too. The humor is pretty soft, though some decent adult jokes got slipped in here and there. I'd feel comfortable giving this game to adults or kids since those cartoons tended to slip in adult humor here and there too.

I just want it to go on longer. I really hop there's more DLC, or a sequel.

The only real negatives are that if you play a lot of games you've probably gotten similar gameplay that was better somewhere else, and that this is merely good rather than must-play in that respect. The ages of the characters were hard to pin down which made some of the jokes seem off, I had assumed they were elementary school ages but later its confirmed they're High School freshmen.

If this game is on sale, maybe $20 or so, get it.

The best I can say is that, aside from some framerate issues that I fixed with a mod on Nexus, my complaints are minor nerdy nitpicks and my positives are huge.

Speaking of Nexus, I used a mod that added the original health indicator and menu sounds which just pushed it over the top. If you liked the originals, buy it. If you're curious about the originals but don't want to emulate them, buy it.

Make SH1 next, Bloober!

Tycoon games with a bit of Dwarf Fortress. Fairly casual if you want to play that way, but has the ability to go higher with your aesthecic construction and path to your goals plus starting in communities of different conditions after your first schoo.

Gameplay is forgiving for beginners due to the ease of rearranging things (moving a gym is easier than building a bike rack), with the tactics being more about getting the money and resources (in this case accolades for student success) faster so you can build the stuff you want faster. I only lost one when playing the demo, but definitely got better and better as time went on. At the end of my first school I was ready to go for challenges for sure.

You can restart on harder conditions, or try to build specific kinds of schools which is where your replay value comes from. Prison-like school with zero mercy, slum school with the bare minimum, traditional Japanese styles, modernistic and futuristic, and emphasis on certain fields like artschools, scientific centers, literary centers, or athletic centers specifically by being selective about what communities you draw students from. Also, bankrupt your rival schools!

10/10, one of my new favorite games.

Its good, the entire Ogre tabletop roster is unfortunately very small. My only real complaint is only two Legendary Lords since the Ogre faction did have a few more characters who had rules (albeit way back in the day) and a few who could have been expanded into having rules.

I'd also have liked them to create something new to fluff up the roster a bit.

But overall its a great experience for those who either played them on the tabletop or always wanted to (I'm the latter, my plastic crack money was on Dorfs, Mums, and Alfs).

Almost mandatory for anyone who was a kid between the 80's and now.

Smash Brothers, with less emphasis on items but more moves, using Time Warner properties. Characters unlock through simple gameplay, microtransactions for most cosmetics. Its fun, not much else to say.

Fun little game. Mostly the first half is an FPS version of Resident Evil 1, second half becomes a bit more like RE4. The worst part of it is the framing device, the supposed reason you are there and the ending don't feel like they match the rest of the game. It feels like it needs more than one ending.

But yeah, a really good bit of $5 fun. Get it for sure if its ever cheaper.

Its no Fallout: New Vegas (though it is FAR more stable). But its the closest thing I've played since then.

The layouts inside can be confusing at times due to repeated visuals and the difficulty curve goes from fairly difficult to facerollingly easy for most of the game for most character builds, but the story, humor, and dialogue are top tier.

I hope they make more.

Do you like Left 4 Dead, Vermintide, Payday, Minecraft, and other games like them?

This is better. Buy it.

Get thrown into missions in caverns in a giant hollow asteroid full of bugs that attack like you're in Starship Troopers. Complete the objectives and survive in a group of 4 with classes consisting of the Scout (has a grappling hook, and a flaregun that lights up the entire cavernn for your group), the Gunner (also has a grapple hook that isn't as good but other players can use, as well as shield domes), the Engineer (has a turret, but can also provide platforms attached to walls that other players can use to get to the tops of caverns, use as stairways, or bypass hazards), and the Driller (has drills that can immediately go through ground and scenery like butter in any direction). All four can use a pickax to dig for resources, use as a melee weapon, or slowly dig through rock. They also have unlimited small flares.

Great progression, great gunplay, even a few scares when you realize that while you were mining gold your group moved onnahead and suddenly the entire cavern on all surfaces is covered in bug monsters snarling at you as they advance.
