Idk what the negative reviews are complaining about. Just adding a review because the game doesn't deserve "Mixed reviews" as its currently showing.

Game needs a little polish but there is def something fun here.

As a free game I highly recommend giving it a shot.

Basically "I want to play overwatch but I also want to play smite"

Game play wise the game is incredible, if you like combat kart racers you will love this game.

The menu's could load faster / be a little bit let confusing but once you understand the different modes, its pretty easy. There is a LOT of different modes.

A lot of complaints about "pay to win", these just are not true, you cant even buy the premium currency right now and if you could at best you get cosmetics.

The game has a ton of content grind to unlock and upgrade all characters. I am sure they will make it pay to accelerate but you can unlock all content and compete it just might take you a little longer to grind some of the content. They throw free stuff at you constantly just for playing the game.

You can even set level scaling in private multiplayer so you can have even races between friends.

There are absolutely ways the game could improve but I played so long yesterday that my hand started hurting from driving... played another 2 hours beyond that.

Pretty easy review to write.

If you liked The Forest, you will like Sons. Rather than reinvent the wheel the game looks and feels like a straight upgrade without removing the unique elements that make this game what it is.

Now if you played The Forest for any period of time you will understand that the game took some time for things to come together and all of the content be added. Sons appears to be no different. There is missing content that I know will be added. How do I know? This Dev team proved themselves time and time again with the first game.

It comes down to is the game in its current state worth the price point?
I would say absolutely yes. Even if the Dev's abandon the game tomorrow and leave it in its current state there is an easy 20+ hours of content. If the price was $80 like many game releases these days the game might come up short on content if nothing else was ever added. We have some pretty good indicators that we will see updates. For example there is a spot on the title screen that shows when the next patch is coming.

This is one of those rare times that the sequel to a great game actually does the first game justice.
