To start playing this on a difficulty lower than Rare would be a disservice to the game, as it's constantly pushing you to use your inventory to the fullest while still giving you the freedom to dictate your own play-style. The balance in each enemy encounter really is superb and there’s room for improving your skill with every action and reaction. I found myself playing out combat sections several times each just to find new ways to aggressively clear them in a way that's most satisfying before moving on to the next room or objective. Oh and the rest of it is really good too
