A modernized touch on a very old FPS game, with a great usage of humor. While it does have its share of save bugs at certain points of the game, the checkpoints in each level provide a good backup to such issues, and also serve as an alternate to autosaving for those who wish for a fairly reasonable challenge. So you can rely off of saves, but not too much. The boss battles are epic, but also require strategy. Learn your bosses well enough and the seemingly impossible becomes possible. Like the old game, this is definitely not for the faint of heart, with its very dramatic share of gruesome deaths. While not an RPG, the protagonists have some personality. While relatively low budget by todays standards of FPS games, there is a lot of love about it, especially for those who have nostalgia for older games of this type. So this game is not for everybody, but it certainly has its place among certain types of non-casual gamers.

A fun FPS that is free to play. What do you have to lose, other than your pride to better players?

Simple, fun, frustrating. Come back to when you have little or lots of time. You might rage quit, only to pick it up again in a few minutes. It hurts, but you like the abuse.

A game you love when you are not playing it or when you get through a night. A game to hate when you fail. But it is all in what it is. I haven't played many games with horror elements to it, but this is a game that is very textbook to that. It will keep you on your feet every single second if you strive to survive, and once you generally know how to play the game. Once you know what you are doing and can thus make it past the first two nights, you can't neglect character AIs, period, and you can't waste time. Paranoia is a requirement, but at the same time, you can't panic. If you want a quick healthy dose of stress, you have found the game you are looking for here.
