Grabbed and bit into birds' necks and threw their dead bodies at their buddies before I later got ambushed by an alligator who knocked all of my teeth out.

Fantastic game. This is where it all started for Overgrowth. While I was looking for the aforementioned game, I stumbled upon this and had to get it as it looked like an MDickie game but with bipedal animals. Something about low poly models with good texture work and very open natural environments that feel 'lonely' is peak graphical nostalgia for me personally. Despite this graphical simplicity, there is a surprising attention to detail with the wolf smell system and wind simulation.

The combat, while hard to bite into at first, is pretty in-depth for a 2005 indie game made by a teenager (supposedly). You can throw knives, reverse attacks, sprint on all fours and tackle your enemies, etc. I recommend going through the tutorial several times to see what I mean and to get used to it before you play.

The storyline is a revenge plot with a few added conspiracy spices, where our protagonist goes after the raiders who destroyed his village and family before finding himself caught in a grand scheme involving the wolves. There isn't much to it besides that and a rather f--ked-up moment later on (if you know, you know... ). If you're still hungering for rabbit fighters going at it after beating the game, I recommend going to Wolfire's website and onto Lugaru's page for mods.

Highly recommend if you want to see where Overgrowth's backbone originated, even if there is an updated and improved version of the game in Overgrowth's campaigns.

Pretty neat game that takes heavy gameplay inspiration from Iron Lung. It's very short, but still interesting.

I liked the setting of putting this in the Australian outback during the late 90's. The lore, while told in sparse notes and documents, is intriguing while taking some light cues from the SCP Foundation and other horror fandoms. The backstory behind the 'Kylieroo' and other anomalies is interesting and somewhat Troma-esque to a degree, while still playing it straight. (animals mutating into monstrous forms, shady companies, environment problems, etc.)

I do have to say though, there are some moments where the game is a tad 'cringe' and these are mainly found in the scientific documents and notes. While it is fine in the notes discussing the local townsfolk and the outback itself, the specimen notes and prologue entries have this 'flowery' vibe to them that feels out-of-character for research papers on anomalous specimens. Look at the differences between the languages seen in this game's subject notes and the average SCP document, and you'll get an idea of what I'm referring to. They're still neat and add into the game's lore though.

I liked it overall and I hope to see more of this interesting worldbuilding regarding these abominations.

I've been having a kick for stealth games lately and this one is scratching that very niche and particular itch of "badass ninja game with buttery smooth movement". I almost cannot express how much I'm loving this game despite not even being that far into it. The artstyle is very awesome too as it reminds me greatly of watching The Venture Bros. Great art and atmospheric direction can make any game look fantastic no matter the perspective or graphics.

Never have I played a stealth game with such perfectly fluid movements. You actually feel like a badass ninja slinking away in the shadows and picking off guards. I feel like the 2D perspective along with the spritework and animations helps this glorious feeling as there aren't meshes awkwardly colliding into each other as it would be in a 3D game with models and large maps attempting to go in this direction.

Why haven't you played this game already, fellow stealth nerds? Go buy it!

I'm so glad this game released. It's almost ALL what I want of new FPS games. I've seen this and that with boomshoot games and (eugh) the CoD swarms a few years ago, but you almost never see gun-fu games and I sincerely hope this kickstarts a new generation of FEAR-likes. Feels almost exactly like FEAR if it were developed today. The movement is faster and much more fluid. There is a stamina meter that initially upset me, but I managed to have fun with it once I realized you can refill it with kills. The soundtrack composed by Brandon McKagan is awesome too, though it does get a bit too overdramatic and 'Hollywood-like' at certain moments (i.e. Safehouse ambient tracks). The combat music is good too, but it feels weirdly mixed to where it almost plays over sounds instead of being in the background??? I can't explain it well.

I'll give it one thing it does better than FEAR, and that's the horror aspects. Whereas FEAR only had 1 supernatural enemy type that was a complete fart joke in behavior and health (Literally one pistol shot to kill them and they barely deal damage...) and Alma was only threatening in scripted sequences, Trepang2 actually has monster enemies and bosses! I won't spoil any further than that and I haven't gone through the whole game yet.

Bravo Trepang Studios. I absolutely love this badass FPS.

Thank you Soundpad developers, for helping me scare children on Roblox with horrific sounds and low quality Funkytown.

Have fun!

I absolutely recommend this game for people that want a reverse horror game but still want to look for a genuinely disturbing experience. I also have to warn you that this game is rather hardcore stealth, even on normal difficulty (or 'Fetish' as its called in-game). It is a game that rewards you more for patience than force or traditional skill, you have to lie in the shadows and keep your footsteps light so as to not alert a hunter before executing them.

Even though Rockstar is more focused on throwing out shark cards for GTA V and re-releasing it on new consoles, I hope they one day make another Manhunt game.
