Risk of Rain 2 is quite possibly one of my greatest impulse buys of all time.

There is a reason why this game has overwhelmingly positive reviews, and that's simply because the game is a fantastic roguelike.

With the new expansion on the way very soon, I look forward to piling more hours into this beautifully crafted video game.

The game is superb.

HOWEVER, there are currently some optimisation issues that plague the game. Specifically, with me, I have stuttering and RAM leak issues, which cause the game to run slower over time.

I imagine this will get fixed, though.

All in all, a solid game.

UPDATE: The game now has worse stuttering than it used to, no idea why, it's unplayable for me at this point, I've asked for a refund.

This is the quintessential "strapping your car with C4 and driving it into a tank and blowing it up" simulator.

The game includes all the DLC, except some other free maps you have to download manually and the servers are incredibly full at the moment because of the hype around Battlefield 2042.

Definitely pick this up on sale.

Look I'm gonna be straight up with you all.

Inside this game, Bungie did actually have a vision for something absolutely fantastic. The gun-play is so damn satisfying and the game worlds are crafted so meticulously and look so damn cool.

But that's as far as praises go for me I'm afraid.

Here's the bottom line: This game is a huge grind and everyone else that says so is not over-exaggerating.

There is only so much PVE content you can play before becoming so bored that you want to do chores instead of grinding for better gear. How could Bungie mess up something so great and make it so boring?

PVP content is fine I guess, I'm not really good at it, so I give it a miss most of the time but it shouldn't even really be like this.

Play this game for free, but please for the love of god - DON'T PAY FOR IT

Borderlands 2 really irks me. Here’s why.

This isn’t because I’m incredibly bad at the game or anything, but the games difficulty curve really switches up fast after the first play through. Because of this, you’ll need to optimise your build with whatever class you’re playing as.

Personally, I shy away from harder games as I find video games as a medium to escape from the harsh realities of life and to at least get one win under your belt. If you’re into things that get progressively harder, then you’ll probably like Borderlands 2.

Besides this, I do recommend the game for the storytelling and gunplay. Shooting weapons in this game is incredibly satisfying and could be compared to the satisfaction of other games like Destiny 2 or Call of Duty: Warzone.

Nevertheless, pick this one up on sale with all the DLC.

Although Rocket League is unable to be acquired through normal means on Steam, I do highly recommend picking up the free version on the Epic Games Store.

The game has now gone free to play and to be honest, not much gameplay-wise has changed apart from scheduled public tournaments, which was a great addition in my eyes and how it’s much harder to get XP for your Rocket Pass.

Of course now you’ve got the developers really pushing for you to use the item shop in game, but to be honest you can just look past that. I know customisation is a big part of the game, but if you play the game enough you’ll just unlock customisation options through gameplay normally.

All in all, definitely pick this up and play it with your friends for free. You can even cross play with people on PlayStation, Xbox & Nintendo Switch.

GRID 2 is Codemasters' second affair into the Race Driver: GRID series, but struggles to keep its identity and integrity for opting as a more story-driven game compared to it's predecessor.

It's not as interesting or fun as the original game, in my opinion. The first game is probably one of the greatest racing games of all time that's not exclusive to a console.

The progression of this game is the ultimate downfall. I got bored halfway through of repeating the same things, there wasn't really anything to break up the monotony.

However, you can expect some nice arcade-style racing and drifting with cars that people know and love, such as the Koenigsegg Agera R, Bugatti Veyron and more.

Some people also still play this online too. I participated in some Demolition Derby-based affairs not too long ago and it was fun, albeit not as great as GRID but still some great gameplay.

It's worth a buy at a heavy discount and you can pick this up for cheap on a key site.

Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet Simulator 2020

There is a strange feeling of solitude when virtually trucking through France at 3am listening to Kenny Rogers on a French radio station that’s built into the game.

This game is genuinely relaxing if you play it the right way.

Or you could play it the way I play, where I take the speed limiter off the truck, listen to extremely loud drum and bass music and try to get from one destination to another without flipping your truck over and killing yourself.

PUBG is like having a dump, then realising that you squeezed it out of your bum way too hard and you rip the inside of your anal cavity and blood comes out.

Some people get off on that, most people don't.

If you get off on that sadistic stuff, then maybe this is the game for you.
