Early Access Review
So this is what it feels like to live in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 map, Favela.

It's Euro Truck Simulator 2, but instead it's in that country where everyone gets shot and they believe football is a game played with their hands.

Finally, a game where I can commit to a parasocial relationship with an anime girl and play Chinese third-person Counter Strike against cat-girls with Valorant power-ups and skills.

As someone who grew up playing DCUO at the height of its popularity when it was on PS3/PS4, I had a blast of a time playing the game.

Nowadays, though, the game is a shell of its former self.

Although the DLC is now free to play for everyone, the community is now not as welcoming on the servers as they used to be. There's lots of arguing in chats and people talk down on you if you don't understand certain mechanics in alerts/raids.

Also the only server that's alive right now is the US server, so if you're really far away from the US, then you probably will not have any luck trying to play this game.

I'd recommend DCUO probably a decade ago, but for now, I would actively pass on this.

Nacon and KT have essentially ruined what was a beloved franchise with this new TDU game.

I had to buy a copy as I just wanted to try the game at least once in the pure hopes that it wouldn't actually be as bad as I thought it would be.

Turns out I was wrong and it's an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mess.

I feel strongly about this game as I grew up playing TDU1 on the PSP and XBOX 360, then as I got older I played TDU2 on the PS3 and loved both of the games for what they were, even if they were scuffed in a few places.

Now, all we have is a steaming pile of horrible optimisations, inconsistent AI, grindy game-play and the loss of that general feel that makes a TDU game.

I would avoid unless the developer pulls a No Mans Sky and patches the game to a playable state.

I'm not holding my breath, though.

Having two lives in a CS-type game is an interesting concept, and makes for some interesting plays.

However, because the anti-cheat they use in this game is literal trash, there are already people wall-hacking in games and shooting through walls.

Had to deal with two people already doing stuff like that.

Backing up a lot of other people's thoughts on this game, it's currently an absolute grind fest to make any money whatsoever.

What doesn't help is the fact that you run out of fuel and your tires degrade over time, which you then have to spend lots of your money you just earned on.

Classic mobile games-type shenanigans.

I'd just play any other Need for Speed instead.

RIDE: The Game is definitely worth picking up if on sale.

It serves as a proof of concept for the next RIDE games and is actually pretty decent.

Multiplayer has since shutdown, but there's a lot to play around with in the single-player.

The game won't run properly over 60 FPS, the game crashes if you alt-tab, no graphics settings in game either.

I would dodge getting this version of the game, honestly.

Inertial Drift is a great pick up and play game. Fair warning, though, that this game gets increasingly harder as you go along.

I couldn't really figure out how to drift some of the later cars as they had such bizarre mechanics. I ended up dropping the game because of this.

It runs great on Steam Deck FYI.
