Personally I was going to write a review when I decided to finish up my VRChat life and hang up my headset, but with the review bomb of the Security Update I did want to put my two cents in.

I do recommend this game to other players only because I believe this game does deserve it. From my over a year of actively in this game nearly every night it's just not fair. I've followed this game for years beforehand as well and many I believe would agree that "hackers", "crashers", etc. have always been in VRChat and will always will be since there will always be someway to get past any anti-cheat system.

I never expected this game to be such a big part of my life now, lots of my closest friends I've met through it like many others. Drama, risking going into public lobbies for fun, and other things like these I think are just par for a social game.

Back to the current state of VRChat just after the backlash of said Security Update. It's terrible and unfortunate. Plain and simple. The removal of the ability to use mods isn't a great move for the devs and if they had implemented some of the most used/useful mods that users use into the game itself before they removed mods that'd be a huge improvement. It's a double edged sword. On one hand you remove QoL (quality of life) mods that a fair bit of users use to make their VR experience better and on the other hand implementing anti-cheat software discourages people from using malicious mods to get people's personal info., avatars, etc..

I have faith in the VRChat devs. And with this kind of backlash they definitely have to do something if they want to retain/get back users. I'm weathering the storm as it were and I hope many others do as well. I will seriously consider alternative social VR options depending on their handling of this situation.
