Very fluid combat system, very strongly reflex-oriented but that's no bad thing. Grinding to get better won't really help you if you don't invest time to learn the system, but if you do then you won't feel like you're grinding at all as you unlock the additional powers.

As a Tolkien nerd, however, I would be remiss not to mention: none of this, none at all, is in any way consistent with the mythology Tolkien laid out. That said, it meshes well with the movies, and if you are capable of separating the movie canon from the literary canon in your mind, you won't be disappointed with what the team has done with the story here.
