Evidently I wrote a review to this game that I have no recollection of. And reading it I am shocked how I undersold this game.

This is an absolutely great real time tactics game, great gameplay.

The story is a classic western story. You will know where it'll be going from the start and YET you will still enjoy the entire ride. The writing is solid, characters are memorable.

Amazing music and audio.

The campaigns may be the best Age2 has ever had.

Good level design, lot's of eye candy and detail. Good writing. Good challange.

Yes, absolutely. Without a shadow of a doubt.

There's no game like this. I wish it was available when I was a kid.

I highly recommend Deponia.*

*With a caveat. Check out the trailer. Do you like that style of whimsical tongue-in-cheek humor? This game is full of it.

An oh boy is it good. 30 hours of it and it does not drop a single beat. It's amazing. so many memorable moments, some very much unexpected. You'll laugh a lot but even with it's self-aware nature this game has moments that get very real very fast.

The writing is decent, the characters are enjoyable, some even memorable. Be warned that the main character starts off (and for most of the series) is *very* selfish to say the least. So play along with it and enjoy the madness going on. I've seen some commenters have an issue with the ending. I don't want to spoil it but I can assure you it's far from the mess that Mass Effect's ending was. I'll say this much without spoiling: what happens makes sense, it just could've used a bit more foreshadowing on character development & motivation.

Bug & performance issues - virtually none. Atleast I don't recall running into anything game breaking. edit: correction, there may have been 2 or so cases where I had to restart the game but that fixed the issues.

I highly recommend AoE2:DE.

It's the Age of Kings you remember, but with more. The civs added on after Conquerors are awesome.
Singleplayer campaings are mostly good, some are bad (Tariq) while others I found amazing (Le Loi). (It's hard for me to compate them with the original AoK & AoC campaings due to nostalgia)

It looks the way you *thought* AoE2 looked like 20yrs ago.
Performence has gone up since release, it's good and getting better.

Gameplay wise there are very few bugs if any.
