Definitely my favourite game of the entire year.

I am absolutely terrible with horror games, but this is hilarious with friends, watching your friend get their neck snapped by a bracken as their screaming cuts off and they get dragged down a dark corridor is both terrifying and extremely funny.

Playing this game solo however is absolutely bone chilling. The ambience, the enemies, and the map design really gets fully appreciated then. If you haven't played a run solo, I recommend trying at least once.

Some things I would like to see:

A dedicated solo mode with a very basic AI companion like in deep rock galactic (doesn't even need to do anything. I just want some cope as I sh*t my self on solo runs)

Item explanations, an entry like the bestiary on the terminal (required to buy the item first maybe)

suit cameras (come on, can you imagine how terrifying and funny it would be for your operator to see from your perspective as you die and the screen turns to static or the camera falls to the floor)

some sort of highlights/clips integration. This game is very streamable but if you're playing with friends and just chilling out, missing something hilarious is heart breaking

More long term progression unlocks. I know you can gain levels but I think they only change your name badge atm

This game is a gem. I personally connect with this game.

I'm a bus driver. Not because it was something I always wanted to do but after personal issues, I had to move back to my home town 500 miles to the south with my parents.
Don't get me wrong, I love my job but this game really hit me in the feels with the story and that same feeling of driving bus through my home town. A place that feels familiar and foreign at the same time.

The game its self has a fantastic art style, and an effective story. This game is going to be on my mind whilst I'm out on service!

I got more achievements in the 70 minutes of playing that I have ever gotten in my life.

If you like Warframe, you will like the gameplay. It's quite grindy but the combat is where the game shines.

Sadly the servers are absolutely abysmal. Very poor connection. Queue times are not as bad anymore though.

The biggest deal breaker here is the lack of any EU (and a lot of other regions) servers. As far as I know, the early access only has NA servers. This is not mentioned anywhere and it's quite honestly disappointing to see this from a big name such as DE (they handle the servers)

If you aren't from the the NA and don't like the grind of games like Warframe, then this isn't for you, and sadly at the moment, not for me either.

i can't believe I paid £10 for this holy crap this was amazing.

Sony, get your ♥♥♥♥ together and get someone make a sequel.

I'm really sad that I can't like this game. Halfway through writing this, something occured to me. This game would be fantastic if it was not aiming to be a souls-like

I've had my eye on Bleak Faith for a while now for the same reason as others; the art style and world design.

Whilst at first glance these aspects are fantastic. Even after the numerous patches so far, I'm not sure this game will ever feel finished. The lack of controller support makes the game almost unplayable for any souls-like veteran. Yes the basic funtion is there but for the souls like genre, you need responsiveness and reliability, which are not present.
Little things ruin the experience for me, like how your block button does nothing unless you have your weapon drawn, and how you can't switch targets with the right stick.

As per recommendation by the developers, I tried MnK. Sadly, as anyone who has experienced or researched the souls like style in any detail, this input method just doesn't work with all of the things you have to worry about.

I think it's great that the asset thing is being sorted out but to be honest I could've looked past that if I had got to experience the world. If this was simply an adventure game without the strong emphasis on difficulty and combat, this would have been a great experience on MnK.

I really hope the devs keep working on this for the sake of all those who are sticking with the game. I really hope in a years time I can change this review to a recommend.
