This game has been developed very steadily for a number of years. Devs love to throw in wordplay on card descriptions; I've had as many groans as chuckles.
There's often a different team build you can use if you are running into failure. The meta isn't too punishing if you go against it in regular battles and story quests, which is where you will get some early cards anyway. Open chests to really boost this.
Success in PVP will rather be found by: 1, finding a good team lineup with decent powers or traits which combine well, 2, getting much xp into your equipped hero class by keeping it equipped over many battles. 3, probably something else because I'm not very good at PVP.
The base mechanic is a match 3 game, rewarding an extra turn if you match 4, which can give you a nice advantage on the opponent. If you are repelled by this aspect, needless to say you probably won't have much fun collecting and powering up. I don't mind and the rounds fly by. Good background game, good passtime. The devs are bold enough to break it and attentive enough to notice themselves and fix it. Always new cards, big and small!

Hey guys I can't buy the two-copy pack as a gift and give away the two copies. It seems I'm excluded from the Ultra Baby's Co-op Chaos Pack since I already own the main game. If I nonetheless buy the game for two friends, then the cost difference of what I pay versus what I could pay is $10.48-8.74 = $1.74.

A dollar, seventy-four is 11% of the original price point. Now, I know the game is already on sale, so I shouldn't complain, right? I'm already getting 65% off, why cry that it's not -76% of the price point for a single copy? Sure, people have promotional offers for first-time buyers, so it's not exactly immoral that I don't have access the the same deal. But it still feels arbitrary. The point in having such promotional offers for newcomers.. is to expand the playerbase, to help people make that decision to buy... Do you see where I'm going with this? Does it really matter who makes the decision to buy, if ultimately the purchase happens, AND more potential players become players?

There are a couple people I really care about and one person I tend to trade with for whom I bought the game anyway as individual copies today. Although I was quite tempted to buy it for 3 other friends because I think they would enjoy something outside of their typical genre, and gift-giving is just fun.

However, the sense of a cold arbitrary nature of my exclusion from this deal which is very clearly on offer for anyone else, has had me reconsider. It isn't worth it. What could have been a frivilous purchase that I didn't really need to make* has been avoided on my part, and I probably haven't missed out too big. I don't know whether I even missed out at all.

* (Not sure if these friends would enjoy the game, but it would be worth them testing it)

However, I *can* guess that a few other buyers have thought the same thing. I doubt the hypothetical sale of 36 or so more copies would really make an impact on The Behemoth, or on Valve, but maybe it's worth thinking about why this is a policy. I'm certainly curious if the numbers really support such an exclusion. I understand Bayesian thinking exists even though I am not steeped in it. I reserve my skepticism that the exclusion serves any purpose, monetarily or brand-wise.
