Very fun game. Sadly, there are almost no other ww1 games around and Isonzo explores a largely unknown front in ww1.
The new Ascencion gamemode is an incredible additon, it is always great when devs experiment with something new and unusual, like mountain warfare.

My only negative is that the player capacity is disappointingly low, only 48 players total.... Even Battlefield 1 had more with 64 players, which really makes a difference in regards to the massive infantry concentrations of ww1. i would love it if this game had like 100 player capacity.

Im having a lot of fun with this game, its sadly not a concept that you see everyday in game where you assume tactical command from first person only, like the mount and blade series in the combat scenes.

There is something immersive about being able to design your own camp and being able to dismantle it and rebuild the same preset in a different location to keep your army moving, or seeing servants with pack mules come and go from your camp with supplies, giving us the chance to deal with logistics that sadly many games ignore yet was, is and will continue to be vital in warfare.

The downsides would be path finding, and the repetitiveness of the gameplay like, approaching a village, form testudo to tank the arrows, release your arrows, switch to battle formation and rinse and repeat.

I would love to see more games like this were you would march around the world with your army in a first person perspective and see the massive logistical trail you have to take into account for.

Early Access Review
Great free to play game.

While most turn based games will have you plan your turn, trigger your actions and then have the enemy do the same, this one will have both of you trying to predict each others move with simultaneous turns.

And unlike the Total War series your units can actually use formations that are beneficial (or detrimental) to the engagement.

Fun medieval sandbox with massive room for entertaining mods, but with a somewhat bad multiplayer server.

easiest way to explain is that this is like xcom2, if you liked that one you will probably like this one. although i am having a lot more fun with this game.

i saw some people complaining about performance, but i couldnt notice much issues, and i didnt have any creashes yet.
im running on a 5 year old gaming laptop with a gtx 1060

personally im not fond of cultists being so lethal, would be better if they were nerfed and their numbers increased. read it as human wave doctrine.

i still havent finished my first playthrough but the mistakes i made at the beginning while learning to play are definitely catching up to me. im playing on medium.

Empire campaign be like: "Hey kids, wanna commit some war crimes?

[UPDATED REVIEW]

I loved the story missions, i wish there was more of it. Definitely a vast improvement of Battlefront 2's campaign.
Regarding gameplay, i would like it more if all fighters base speed was increased by 50% or 100%, sometimes it feel too slow when im flying with certain bomber and support ship setups. Alongs side it i would love to see fleet battles have 3 squadrons on each side to have some bigger battles.

The game is everything i expected from it, its exactly what i got from all the trailers they released for it. Of course there are issues, but those can be fixed, maybe in a week or so depending on the issue, but other than that the game is running quite smoothly. I dont have a VR headset, FYI.

I am enjoying dogfights more than i thought i would, the power management system brings a lot to this game and voice chat allows for coordination. Its a very fun game, for me at least, and this more "realistic" approach could be applied to more future SW games.

My greatest concerns though would be in the long term, although the devs made it clear that they didnt plan to add anything later to the game im still hoping we might get new maps and or game modes to keep the game fresh in the long run.

By the way, you can commit war crimes in the imperial campaign.

could use a campaign gamemode like the base game, but a fun experience nonetheless

playing this on free weekend the second time

i can not recommend this game because its hard to find squad leaders that are actually squad leading and even harder finding squad mates that follows the squad leaders orders. this is a core principle of a game like post scriptum, where squad coordination and tactics play a major role in gameplay.

and the update plan jaune seems to have too have been made available for free weekend way too early given the amount of bugs and glitches, which given the circumstances the developers should have left the free weekend to a more stable version of the game.

the two issues that got my attention the most on the french update was the glitched movement of the H35 tank and the issue of not being able to aim your gun or shoot it when playing as the french
