I have to say that this game is deeply frustrating, but also deeply satisfying.

I am somebody who enjoys delving deep into games in order to learn what they have to offer. I have competed in tournaments for fighting games in the past (doing well on a local level- within my own city), I have played World of Warcraft at a high level for many years, and I just generally enjoy being overly competitive with video games for no reason.

To somebody like me: You will enjoy this game if you put work and effort into learning the ins and outs. I haven't gotten a ton of time to do so just yet, but I can FEEL it start to click more and more. The frustrations are starting to diminish, and I am starting to get some "Aha!" moments, but I will say that 6 hours doesn't feel like enough time to understand everything if you're trying to learn it completely solo.

If you are not the type of person who enjoys experimenting, failing, and trying again, this game *may still be for you!!* I would simply recommend waiting a bit of time. The internet is a great collective of individuals who can and will work together to create tips and tricks to being successful with this game. I do believe that will greatly help alleviate the early-game woes and frustrations.


In summary: Great game if you enjoy being a noob and struggling to not only learn the game mechanics, but also investigate the optimal strategies without an already established database of collective knowledge. You will be spending hours dying in this game before you get the hang of it.

If you're not that kind of person: the game is still fun, but I would probably suggest waiting until the optimal strategies are figured out and there are guides posted on YouTube before you delve in.

This game has obvious inspiration from the Castlevania series in terms of assets, but the gameplay is totally unique. Absolutely hilarious game and is super fun. Please never change the names of these items. Even if the intended names weren't "Santa Water" and "King Bible" something about their names is so good. I'd much rather use Santa Water than Holy Water.
