Half the game Puyo Puyo Tetris is, if you for some reason don't want Tetris in your modern Puyo game or want to save a little bit of cash then this is the option for you. Other than the omission of Tetris there are some characters not present in Puyo Puyo Tetris and a lack of story mode.

In all honesty there's not a great wealth of content but for such a small team this is a very good effort and the game definitely has passion and heart in it.

The visuals are a spot on tribute to the N64 days much like Kiwi 64 (a demo I'd love to see adapted into a full game with some minor tweaks such as a double jump).

There are a few flaws in presentation in terms of the dialogue sometimes having poor grammar/punctutation (a character refers to an "arcadegame" without a space in the Tubular level and in Moody Mansion the mummy character says "Woah I had the weirdest dream. No wonder I was sleeping on a key..." when "No wonder, I was sleeping on a key..." would read better, these are jsut two examples of a few). Characters dialogue also sometimes won't change to reflect objectives being met so they'll tell you to destroy ghost balloons you've already destroyed for example. The stock scream for the Melon King is pretty bad sounding too and there's oddly voice acting at the beginning and for one character whose voice is provided by Grant Kirkhope but I suppose it's not worth taking out a cameo like that for such a minor gripe. Those small dents in presentation if fixed might elevate the game somewhat but aren't dealbreakers.

All in all I'm not sure I can recommend this game to just anyone but if you enjoy classic 3D platformers you may well enjoy this lovingly made cute homage. I hope I haven't been too harsh on this game as i am aware it's a small scale production but I genujinely do see potential and want to see the devloper make new games and wish to continue to support them.
