was my first game and definitely made me a fan of the series. i sucked at first but by the end it feels good to know your weapon and reading monsters well enough to know how to punish them. i'd recommend not blasting through it in roughly 4 months like i did but you do you, also don't rush through crown farming unless you hate yourself or you might develop Stockholm syndrome.
