A game example of the power of pitch perfect satire, and the adoption of it's ethos by those who the satire targets. Ostensibly about making the universe safe for DEMOCRACY, the satire is of those who would blindly follow FREEDOM even when the term becomes meaningless.

Then there's the fantastic shooter game with progression underneath it, well managed missions and tweaks on a frequent basis, and you have 2024's likely game of the year. Well done !

Why did I buy a 100% deathmatch game thinking it had a single player campaign ?

Wow. This game is deep. I do love complex games, and those which reward understanding their systems, and this is a game like that.

Trying to balance between factions - and when each faction has seriously damaging weapons - combined with world ending disasters is not fun. Not fun at all.

On the other hand, you can get achievements pretty easy for this game by following the community guide so if it's on sale cheap enough, go for it.

After reading the guide I figured out how to win - don't build anything, stonewall for 60 turns, and pray the disasters are the right type so you don't get wiped out.

Do you like.......... Easy achievements ?

Do you like........clicking with very little skill ?

You will like this game. I was amused throughout most of it, and it also satisfied that ADD part of my brain that wants to play a steam game at the same time I'm playing a mobile game.

No school like the old school

A fantastic factory game with a twist : Now, there's more of a point to the factory because you use it to build a Dyson Sphere. Or 2 or 3, or 10. Or build them around all the stars of the galaxy. It's also a really pretty game. You might just take screenshots for awhile in addition to the game.

Best thing it has going for it is you can't stop playing.

This is a worthy title in the Master of Orion universe (Moo3 was not !). A great remake bringing the gameplay of Moo2 to the modern PC with modern graphics.

Banished is interesting, it has a lot of fun elements and I played for a fair amount of time. But the timeframe to get to achievements is...... pretty long. I kept getting bored or frustrated trying to reach any of them. The world felt pretty small for what they were asking me to do.

It was fun to be into for a short timeframe, but I really like completing achievements and I don't think that will ever happen. That said, this might end up installed and played again so it's a very marginal "downvote" from me.
